so i kinda fixed NV

well for me i dont know if it works with other people but if you own fallout 3 and can access the my document files for fallout 3 the .ini files are named the same as the NV ones. for laughs i started a game after replacing them with the fallout 3 ones and low and behold no more crashes(well for 5 or 6 hours at a time with no problems) and seems pretty stable.

message back and let me know how this works for everyone else as its been working great for me.

There are some pretty big differences between the files, I can't imagine that would work without any problems (or it just reverting to the old settings anyway).

before i switched the files i wouldnt have more then about 10 minutes of gameplay before it crashed now i can play for about 4 hours and it is still running fine so "something" in the ini files seems to stay the same and fix the problems. thats why im wondering if it works for anyone else.

Did you just replace the "Fallout.ini" in your "My Games/FalloutNV" folder?

If so, is that file still the replaced version or did the default version overwrite it?

yes i did that but when it dectected settings again but it seemed to keep some of the values the same and fixed most of my problems. seemed a bit more stable in the end. also i had to remove the default ini files and put the new ones in the folder but as far as i know it didnt replace them with the default if thats what your wondering.

Usually when the launcher "detects settings" it also adjusts the Fallout.ini to match the Fallout_default.ini. At least that's how I understood it.
