I just got to the top of the 7000 steps and wanted to offload Klimmek's supplies from my inventory to the chest in front of the main doors. I just can't figure out how to do it. I can't equip the supplies and the R key doesn't do anything.

I don't know what else to try. Can I get some help here?

Open the chest, and then go to your inventory and store it. What do you mean by equipping? There should be no equipping involved here...

The R key is the Store key. But it didn't do anything and the supplies are still in my inventory.

I'll go back into the game and see if it wroks now. I know there are going to be some kinks in the initial release, maybe this is one of them.

Ah I'm a 360 user :3. Sorry. The game has some random bugs at times, so I'm sure restarting the game can fix it.

I'm on PC bought via Steam: I cannot drop Klimmek's supplie in the chest.

I open the chest and attempts to "equip" the supplies and I get "you cannot equip this item"

for a 360 user, open the chest, go to the supplies in your inventory and press X (the blue button). A (green) is equip. dont press that...

On the PC you hit "R" not enter or e or right click.

Did you re-map the keys? "R" won't work if you re-mapped it to something else.

R wont work if remapped????? Wow really?
Souds like a major error ... go ahead and remap keys but they wont work!

I am having the exact same problem. It totally acts like I want to search the chest. I did notice the supplies have zero weight and zero value......hmmmmm does yous also?

open chest, scroll down into your inventory, highlight supplies , press "R"

I had that same problem, hitting the key i use for drawing and sheathing a weapon does the trick for me (same with throwing items away)!
