I know this category is for cheats and hints but.... secret

I've already saved up over 60 thousand gold in legit trade. My gold keeps rising up because theirs simply nothing that's worth buying, maybe a few soul gems to go with my enchantment weapons (my daggers) and that's just about it.

Do I really need to find a way to steal merchants gold and other items from secret chests exploits? Do I really need to be collecting even more gold than I already am? I hope with this new DLC coming out that Beth can build a tax system where all of your homes will be taxed to help support the cities. I'd also like to be charged for storing my horses in stables.

I want to be forced to spend my gold already... PLEASE Skyrim sam TAX ME!

Yea I pretty much have the same problem. If I find Ebony or Daedric stuff that's worth a lot of money I simply can't let it be and have to take it with me. At this point I have nearly 400-500k saved up and I'm simply not spending it. All in all a fully decorated home costs 20-30k, and you spend that just once anyway. Beside that I simply don't need to spend money, just an ingot from time to time or some potions, that's really pretty much it. I agree there should be more channels for spending money, it's just a bit worthless now, whereas in Morrowind you simply couldn't have enough money!

Who talks about money? I have tons of gold and stuff. But something more important was missing: Muffle Enchantment..

I was looking in all merchants inventory and now, today, I found them in that chest..

Of course I paid for them. Just gave things more valuable. So it's not stealing...

Edit: Why don't you spend your money around you? You complain having too much so do as I do:

Each day I go to the merchants and sell stuff worth 2500 for 10. And even when they have 0 just sell them (give) more stuff. So it helps Skyrim people. No need taxes.

I would have said the same thing last week when I was playing my original character with over 200K; however, I have started a new character and am trying to be vigilant on training each level and I am POOR. I don't mind the chest as it helped me buy Breezehome. Selling iron swords and fur armor only gets you so far.

My main character is a millionaire.
I'm not a fan of the taxation idea, but it would be nice if DLCs had things for sale (housing, items, whatever), that are really, REALLY expensive.
Just so there is a point to keep collecting and selling loot (other than maxing out your speech skill)

I’m not a big fan of taxes but I agree that money becomes a nonissue early on. Maybe the scaling could have been better. As you level and items become more powerful, the cost should increase greatly at shops and the chance of finding them as random loot should drop so you have to purchase. It would also be nice if you could go to a Jarl and donate money for repairs around towns, Winterhold for example or even purchase a business or Inn, not just invest, which has an associated cost for running it.

I did the proving honor quest at like level 16 or so. And I picked up 1600 gold from that. And that doesn't count the money I made from selling any loot I found, it was just the actual coins. I can mine iron ore, transmute it to gold, annd smelt the ore into ingots. Finding tons of gear I dont need/use to sell, and plenty of soul gems for enchanting. I've got plenty of gold, and not much to spend it on.

Personally I would hate to see loot % decrease. For me finding cool stuff is one of the delights of exploration. None of my characters ever buy gear. They use only what they loot. I'd be against any change that would force my characters to buy any of their gear.

I solve this problem with the http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=2762 mod. With this mod my character couldn't afford Breezewood until level 19. She was finally able to completely furnish the house at level 28. And then she spent the next few days travelling by foot because she couldn't afford a carriage!

I like your idea of donating money for repairs though. I think it has the potential to be a great mod. For instance, Whiterun could revert back to its pre-war state after the player has donated enough money to repair the city.

OK, so leave the % chance for finding alone but increase the cost so much it becomes a major decision to purchase. So if you really want it but can’t justify the cost you have to explore for it.

I think you should be able to buy chairs and other possibly rare and unique things to place in yourhouse!
