We know you have bugs...

Post » Sun May 27, 2012 9:55 pm

To the people flaming, raging, crying and whining:

The bugs that you are experiencing? Everyone has them, you are not special, because you have the same bugs that 99% of everyone else has.
I also have bugs in my game too, but unlike you and the majority of advlts on this forum, I don’t cry like a little child who has lost its pacifier, I simply post them in the bug report forum and add it to the list.
One thing you need to remember though is that Skyrim is not just any game; it’s a huge open world on a disk, a game that no other company makes, so bugs cannot be fixed instantly, patches cannot be thrown out instantaneously, things take time and mistakes will be made.

So kids, remember, this isn’t your average ‘game’ that most companies crap out every few months like COD, this is another world, this is Skyrim.

Yeah, I guess I'm crazy for expecting a working product when I spend my money on something.

It sounds like you're just crying about a different issue here... crying is crying. Some people would just expect that a game with such a budget and 'legacy' would be tested more thoroughly before release. Some of the same problems that existed in other Bethesda games, which were patched to fix later, came back in this game. That kind of oversight it laughable. I understand that they wanted to hit their target release date of 11.11.11, but they released a half cooked game. I'm thankful for it anyways though, because I'm having a good time playing it... bugs and all :P

Normally, I would agree. But 1.1 made the game unstable for me w/o a 3rd party utility (skyrim4gb.exe) and 1.2 breaks resistances. If the game had been getting worse with every patch, I want the Alpha build. That must have been phenomenal! ;)

But yes, as a 'new' programmer, I have come to the understanding that fixing X can, for whatever reason, break M. Things happen. However, you would think that something like backwards flying dragons and null resistances would have been caught in testing. So, yeah, [stuff] happens, and I understand that, but that doesn't mean I have to be happy about it. :)

You know threads complaining about how other people are complaining are against forum rules, right?

It just creates an endless cycle of complaining about the complaining about the complaining about the complaining.

None of us are happy about the bugs and the patches making the game more broken than it was beforehand. But people are Vanguardeing* the forums and it's getting out of hand.

*Is it too soon to make Vanguarde a meme? Is it too late? I'm not hip to the inner tubes.

No, you are not crazy, everyone would like the same thing, hell even i would, but you need to be realistic... Like i said in my post, its a huge open world on a disk, if it were to be bug free, then Skyrim would not have been release until late 2013-2014, which by then they would need to re-do it all over again since new consoles will be out, which would then set it back another 3-5 years.

Not really complaining, just pointing out some facts which these kind of people refuse to acknowledge. They forget that this isnt your avarage Mario game~

thanks for the sympathy, Im glad your bugs are small enough to ignore, mine aren't, I wasted 40 hours on my first char only to have my main quest bug out and I had to start again, but now I see the light, thanks

Complaints may not always be constructive or civil, but that doesn't excuse flaming such people.
