Lady Stone Under-rated?

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 6:48 pm

Hey guys/gals

i have been away from Skyrim for a few months. I just started a new character yesterday, duel wield mace and sword. I must say its a lot of fun.

At first i was rocking the Lord Stone, however I ran across The Lady Stone and figured why not i will give it a shot. i must say....i like it...the 25% faster Health and Stamina Regen makes your charcter just a bit more sturdy....in fact so far it has been the difference between normally needing to use a healing spell(now i don't need the healing spell), and it allows me to spam duel power attacks more often.

Now just thinking out loud, but once you reach the armor cap(ie higher levels) the Lord Stone loses some of its power/usefulness....where as the +25% Stamine and Health Regen would become better at high levels...and it works all the time..

I see this shaking out much like the Apprentice Stone, I don't know if any of you read my risky mage build topic, but thats another story/...you cna search for it if you want.

(Which IMO is the Apprentice Stone is the best for a full blown mage as its like a slightly lesser version of Highborn that will let you spam spells like a mad man/woman, and not having to use enchanting to get free destruction which can seem cheap)

I could see the Lady Stone being very useful for a vampire, but it can also have some good utility for a Warrior as it gives you more stayping power....

does anyone else use this stone? Is this another stone many overlook much like the Apprentice Stone?

thoughts?

I used it a lot when my warrior (sword and board) was lvl 20 or so and to be honest it didnt make much difference at all.The health regen boost in negligible in combat and only gives you a tiny boost out of combat.

I would imagine it's more useful with light armour where the stamina boost will stack with the perk you can get from the light armour tree.

The lord stone for me everytime with a warrior im afraid.

on master, during early levels the regen rate doesn't stop you from still dying in a few hits.

Killing Joke:

I have noticed a pretty decent difference in my Heath Regen during combat.....also the more health you have the more the regen is..IE you will regenrate more health per second when your HP is 300 vs when its 100...etc...so the more total HP you have, the more you regenrate per second.

I am using light armor and the plan is to stack it with the Stamine Perk. :)

I will agree with you though, the Lord Stone is boss....its hard to go wrong using that stone the 25% Magic Resistance is quite nice.

i just wanted to try something different, and i could see the Lady Stone being useful at higher levels when you have more HP and Stamina.

Agree with imseeingred.
Your durability in fights will always be down to your armour rating and health.

The lord stone with +50 armour and 25% magical resistance is far superior.Even when you hit the armour cap at higher levels and the +50 to your armour rating is no longer of benefit the +25 magical resistence continues to be worth it's weight in gold.

EDIT: Sorry Woody79 you posted just before me.

As someone who dosent use magic in or out of combat i actually found that the lady stone gave me slightly less downtime inbetween fights due to the +25 health regen but nothing else.

As mages are usually the biggest pain i'm actually going to experiment with the Atronach stone. The reduced mana regen dosent matter to me as i dont use magic but the 50% spell absorbtion could be really useful.Just as idea if you fancy experimenting. It may also be useful if your not using a shield and wont benefit from the elemental protection perk.

I think the Atronach Stone could be very effective against Mages.

As for the Lady Stone...i think it has to be used more "smartly" per se then the Lord Stone.

for example your fighting a mage, your health gets low...duck behind a door or wall...since your Combat Health Regen is 25% better...it makes you harder to kill...you recover a bit quicker(doesn't even have to be full health), pop out and cream the guy.

Also i noticed Frost Spells don't drain as much of my Stamina with the Lady Stone as they did before...which could be useful if your needing to power attack a high level Frost mage.

I am also going to try the Atronach Stone to...Its next on my list as i have been curious about it for some time.

I use the Lady Stone a lot in the early game, since I've decided not to use any of the Guardian stones. I'm sticking with it with my current sword&shield character, because she's Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the Lady Stone simulates her Slayer's healing ability. But I generally switch to something more useful by about level 20 or so.

Woody79, the Atronach Stone works very well, especially if you have some magicka regen boosting gear that can help make up for its drawback. I used it with a Dunmer spellsword, who was going to switch to her mace at some point anyway and didn't really worry about her magicka regenerating. Between the stone's magicka boost and absorption and her stamina-absorbing Dwarven mace, she was pretty much a non-stop killing machine. She was always wrapped in either a blue or green aura during combat.

I can't live without my Guardian/Lover. I change them late into my character's career.

Is isn't under-rated IMO. It is simply not that strong, especially comparred to the Lord or Atronach. However, it is the one I usually use.

I don't know if i would say The Lady Stone is not as strong as some of the other stones...I think saying its effects are "not as pronouced" would be more accurate.

The Lord Stone honestly IMO is only useful early game....Once you reach the Armor cap...the extra 50 armor for the Lord Stone is useless....so after the Armor Cap, The Lord Stone will be reduced to 25% Magic Resistance.... at higher levels, Half the Lord Stones Bonus is useless....The Steed, Lady, Shadow, Serpent, Tower, and Atronach would all be better choices at higher levels.

I tried to go back to the Lord Stone on my duel wield just a bit ago, couldn't do it...it seems like it takes FOREVER for Stamina and Health to regen without the Lady Stone...and on a duel wield...spamming power attacks is your bread and butter....I can also notice a noticeable difference in Health Regen and Stamina Regen with and without The Lady Stone....its very easy to duck under cover for 2-3 seconds and have enough health not to die and over 3/4 of your stamina bar filled up very quickly.

I will say that Late Game, the Atronach Stone is proabably the best overall stone to use. I will however in terms of usefulness and utility the Lady Stone is in the top 4 best stones late game........

More love for steed stone. It's amazing for heavy armor users. To get the same feature with perks, I need to spend 3 extra perks in heavy armor and 3 in pickpocket. 6 perks!

There was a survey recently about people's favorite standing stones, and Lord Stone and Steed Stone came up on top. I only used guardian stones until then. I don't miss guardian stones at all. I really don't notice the difference.

Of the thirteen standing stones in the game, there's only three I'd ever consider using, the rest are either overpowered (Atronach, The Lord) or totally worthless (The Shadow, The Apprentice)

There's also the Experience stones, Mage, Thief, Warrior, Lover. I already think leveling happens too fast in Skyrim.

That really just leaves The Steed, The Lady, and The Serpent.

I use one or the other (Lord/ Lady)- both are equally useful though for a mage the stamina regen isn't particularly.

Leveling happens fast until it slows to a crawl, then the skill stones are useful.

I prefer lady at low level and the lord stone at higher levels. I avoid all levelling bonus stones as it is too fast as is.

The Lady stone is the only one I ever use.

Leveling is not a race or competition in this game... It's not even something I try to do, so the stones that speed that up are never used.

Atronach is most likely the best protective stone, yes I agree on that one. However half of the Lady stones bonus is about useless in combat because health regen is almost non-existant in combat. It is there, but it is not going to matter.

25% resist magica will negate all magical damage by 25%. That is useful throughout tha game. The 50 pts of armor is basicly a bonus you get that sweeten the deal, but is doesn't make the deal. It is the second most powerful passive stone.
