Laptop Install?

Post » Tue May 10, 2011 11:54 pm

I'm sure this has been covered somewhere, but I'm running out of time and maybe someone knows right off whether I can or can't do this. I have Fallout NV on my main machine (and I really like it!) I am going away for several weeks and wanted to play while I am gone. I tried to install on my laptop but got the message that it was already registered on another machine. Now, even microsoft allows a second instaliation on a laptop, so is there a way to do it for FNV?

Thanks for any help.

Steam should install on any machine you have, and you should be able to download the game onto any machine.

You can't have two accounts active, though (so if your desktop had Steam running and signed in to your account, you'd have to sign out), but normally Steam will just sign out machine A when machine B logs on.

Make sure you aren't signed into your account anywhere else and you should be fine.

Hey, Thanks! You git me thinking about my account (and confirmed that I should be able to do it.) It turned out that I logged into steam with an old account name. Doh! Now it installed and ready to go! Thanks again.

It runs great on mine. C2D 7500, 9800M GTS, 4GB ram, Win7 64. Native at 1440x900, good framerate, no terrible slowdowns, High Quality (with shadows turned down a bit).
