Laptop Specs and F:NV

Post » Wed Mar 02, 2011 4:41 am

So, I'm in the market for a new laptop and I want it to be able to play F:NV pretty well. If anyone has any recommendations for a laptop that they have tested it out on and find that it runs pretty well, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

I play NV on ultra high settings with ATI 4830 card, and all the intel core i- processors are more than fast enough for FO:NV. The game isn't taxing on that front at all since it's graphics basically haven't been updated since two years ago.

Any laptop you get with non-onboard graphics and an intel core i- processor is going to be more than capable of playing this game. If you want a brand recommendation in general, I won't buy anything except:

Sony Vaio
ASUS
Toshiba

In that order, as far as laptops go. I've had terrible experiences with Dells, HP's, Gateways and Compaqs, and brands like Acer and Lenovo are just too "cheap" for my taste.

If you give us a price range we can give you more specific recommendations.

I was considering a VAIO...I too have had bad experiences with HP and Dell and I don't really want to get another. Both died within three weeks of each other (a couple months after the warranty ended, imagine that).

I can't really spend more than $1000....maybe could stretch it to $1200, tops.

Also, I probably will avoid 17" screens since I have to take it to Europe and back regularly - just harder to pack.
