Last Perk, Dead Money Q's, & "six"

Post » Wed Jun 29, 2011 10:49 am

Alright, I'm going to try and fit a few topics into one, so here I go;
1.) Currently, I have both the current DLC's (Dead Money & Honest Hearts), which add 5 levels to the cap., making a total of 40 levels so far. Right now, I'm about level 38 and a half, and that means I've only got one more perk to choose before I can't go any higher (and I'm intending to start a whole new save once the next update comes, so I just want suggestions for what to do now, rather than wait for the next DLC). I've got some pretty good perks that I've heard a lot about already, but here are the ones I currently have that I obtained via level-up:

"And Stay Back",
"Educated",
"Ferocious Loyalty",
"Grunt",
"Hand Loader",
"Heave, Ho!",
"Hunter",
"Jurry Rigging",
"Lady Killer",
"Light Touch",
"Sneering Imperialist",
"Strong Back",
"Super Slam",
"Tag!",
"Terrifying Presence",
"Toughness x2",
"Travel Light",
"Weapon Handling".

(And a side note: I would prefer to have a perk that fits for offense, mostly because when the next update comes I'm going to take all my combined wealth and use it to kill every single NPC in the entire game I haven't already killed. So any perk that would have helped me through the main story line, forget it. I don't need anything about speech challenges or what-not.)

2.) I just played through Dead Money's storlyline for the second time in my life, and this time around I noticed quite a few large changes. One being, once I got into the Sierra Madre Casino, I finally got to Christine, and noticed that she didn't want to kill me when I talked to her (the first time I played through, upon first contact to her she spoke hostile to me, and it required that I either have repair, science, or speech (or something) at at least 75 skill points, which was very flabberghasting, considering I'd never considered distributing points into skills like those around that time). This time, she was just like "oh hey, I found Vera's medical reports" and everything was howdy-doodie. I found it very odd, because Christing was never that nice after I found her in my first playthrough. It may have had to do with the fact that when I first found her, I threatened to put her back in the auto-doc. But the second time, I was just like "hey, trust me K?" and held her hand for an instant.
Two, being I don't ever remember Elijah (if that's how you say it) staying behind a force field after you tell him to come down to the Vault. I don't know if that's how it was the first time, because I sort've let him come to me when I was waiting inside the Vault, plus I had hacked the turret terminal, which may have factored in it, but the turrets still turned on me regardless.
And three, at the very end of the DLC (when you get back to the Mojave and find the Scribe's room with all the gadgets in it), I remember there being a holotape that you could listen to after you came back from the Villa. I don't remember if it was off the terminal, but I remember a part where Elijah emphasized "old world blues" within a sentence that was related to the DLC (Old World Blues). But when I got back into that room the second time, all I found was a tape that said it was locked, and "only for Veroncia". You couldn't listen to it, you could only go into Veronica's chat menu and tell her you found Elijah. She gets a perk, woop-dee-doo. I seriously have no idea if I just didn't look hard enough, but I know there was once a tape that I could listen to.

(This next question may be offensive to some viewers, feel free not to read if not wanted)

Spoiler
3.) So I finally finished "Bleed Me Dry" (And, by the way, this is a really redundant question, and feel free to ask if this is a stupid question and would like it removed), and once I got the Dinner Bell and gave Lucy the Deathclaw eggs, we went into her room, and we got laid. I was just wondering if that little event is like the other prosttutes at the Gommorah and such (ex. the "moaning" sounds), because every time I hear from someone about paying for six "Crap, 300 hundred caps for a black screen?", rather than "Crap, 300 caps for sixy moaning?". No one ever explained an exact to answer to this, I just felt sort've questionable about the topic, lol.

Thanks for writing back,

Not quite sure what this thread is about.

It's sort've like mutliple threads meshed into one. Think of it as just three questions I'm asking.

I just opened this because of the word six in the title, I'm sorely disappointed to say the least.

Hey, this thread cost me to have to use cleaner on my disk just to see which perks I had!

Lol, I just realized how little sense this thread gives. Alright, so for the questions, I'm asking (in better detail):

1.) What perk should I choose to be my very last one at level 40?
2.) Have there been any actual changes to Dead Money in the past since its release?
3.) Is the event where you get to get laid with Lucy pretty much the excact same concept with the rest of the prosttutes on the Strip?

Hope that's a bit better.

1) Cannibalism
2) Not that I know of but if you make different choices different things can happen. Especially your fellow DM companions are very sensitive to how you interact with them
3) Yes, six in Fallout is just a black screen with some moaning.

Well, since you have grunt, hand loader and weapon handling, I'll assume you use guns as your primary weaps? Telling us what kind of general build you have and what your favorite weapons are, would have helped us advise you better. But if you use guns, you can't go wrong with Better Criticals (if you have the right stats to get it) and Finesse.

As for the DM question, one of the major points of all the multiple-choice speech options throughout this game, is to teach you that what you choose to say and do will often cause different consequences in how people react to you, and how the game plays out. Welcome to RPG'ing

I would frequently like to choose the snide/snotty/smart-assed speech options that pop up when talking to NPC"s, but I usually don't because I know it'll make my life tougher somehow- or I'll end up missing out on something useful or important. High-fructose corn syrup catches more fleas... or something like that.

six in NV is a laugh. Moaning? Dang. Must be something wrong with my game, I never get any moaning, just the black screen. Maybe I need to work on my technique....

Lol, I know I heard moaning. If there wasn't any, I wouldn't have had to turn the volume down so my dad would hear. :whistling:
And yes, I prefer using guns as my main weapon. Probably my favorite weapons are pretty much most single-fire guns like the Survivalist's Rifle or This Machine, and my favorite pistol is definately A Light Shining in Darkness. I've used it more than anything else, it's so damn tasty. I also like using melee weapons whenever I can, save bullets, after all. Chance's Knife would probably be my favorite, though I do pull out Salt-Upon-Wound's Power Fist every once in a while. Shotguns are also very useful to me, especially with And Stay Back. It's a larf seeing Deathclaws get KO'd in one shell with it. ^_^
My skills are something like, I don't know, I know my Guns, Repair, Lockpick, Science, and Survival are on their way to or are already maxed. My S.P.E.C.I.A.L. is fairly normal, my Strength is 8 (implant included) with my Endurance 6ish, Charisma 6 (implant included), Inteligence 6, Agility 5 or 6, and Luck 5. My only Trait is Wild Wasteland, I refuse to take any more.

Hope that helps with being descriptive, lol.
