Lean left and right

Is it possible to create a mod that allows you to lean left and right when New Vegas gets the script extender? It will help with shooting around corners.

I second this genious idea. :tops:

Though there is a slight issue I can see with this. Games that have this mechanic, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is a good example, usually use the Q and E keys for leaning. The issues with this is Q is assigned to autorun in the settings, even though this can be easily fixed by assigning that key somewhere else (because who uses autorun anyway?). But E, as you probably know, is assigned to the activate/use key, so unless you can assign that somewhere else where it's still in relative use (the only keys available near the WASD cluster are X and C, which would be very awkward to use and I personally bind X to change between running and walking), then I don't see this mod happening.

The only way I see around it is if you could probably bind C to change the camera instead of F, then bind F for the use key, thus freeing up E, and then bind the auto run key to something else so you can free up Q.

I personally wouldn't mind doing this, but I doubt most users would want to go through this ordeal just to have a leaning function.

If it is going to be done, it will have to be done once a NV version of FOSE comes out. The guys are working to see if they can make a NV version, but it will probably be a while before that comes out even.

Actually they can make it, but they cant release till they are done patching. Every new patch would require a new SE to acount for the updated exe.

I would also like to see a mod that makes you bleed out when you are shot and you have to use bandages.

Yes and No, Even after NVSE gets released with the necessary functions to do a mod of this nature it still requires someone to make the animations for leaning (Already exist as I created them for http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9396), and it requires someone who knows the correct way to alter the camera positioning on the Fly without screwing up the camera position permanantly (also already done http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUbkBZJv4iE), and there is yet another issue and that is the game does NOT allow you to fire a weapon while under the influence of a Special Idle so this requires more KeyPress function checks to Fake Firing a weapon while at the same time it requires the necessity for a ton of Weapon Setting Get's just to fill up the fake firing and still yet more issues as FIreWeapon does not trigger the Attacking animations so you also have to force PlayGroup them and that has its whole own set of issues that cause problems.

And you are now cought up to why I never released my Leaning or Dodging Modules for ECM.

Buttons are not an issue they are almost all re-bindable.

Not to my Taste to be honest, I hate CHORE mods and this would become an annoying chore you have to do after every single fight equals an gigantic waste of time overall.

i recommend you keep an eye on Arwen's Realism Tweaks. Her injuries module (planned as of now) will keep your masochistic urges satisfied :)

EDIT: OT, i like the leaning idea. but i also think there should be some tweaking to npc aim. they rarely miss me even when i peek out of a corner only as much as i need to shoot at them

This I know, and it wouldn't bother me to have to rebind some keys to get it to work. What I was saying is that most users probably wouldn't want to go through the small amount of effort to do so. So while I would love to see this mod created, I don't see it being downloaded that much because of a simple little issue like that. People like to nitpick and such.

If this even happens though, I can't wait to try it out.

Arwen's NV Realism Tweaks will have this at some point. The FO3 version already has it (Med-tec module), and it works pretty well. It also takes burn wounds and such in account.
