least annoying bug - spoiler pertaining to Azura's star

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 6:49 am

So of all the bugs in the game, which do you actually kind of like? I mean the ones that you exploit to your own advantage and would be a little put off if they fixed.
example: Azura's star vs. black star - the black star is supposed to only absorb black souls, but it doesn't. It takes all souls regardless of size. Arguable whether that outweighs the companion you get for completing the Azura's Star quest, but having the black star is definitely better than having Azura's.
Anything else?

The fact that you can take the Saviours Hide and Hircines Ring to make up the Oblivion Walker achievement if you missed one of the other artefacts

I have this very convinent bug on my main character who happens to be a ranged character. Every time I recover an arrow from an enemy or from the ground... I get two. So I started out with 40 something ebony arrows that I looted from some enemy at first, and sever hundred hours of gameplay later, without having bought or looted any large amount of arrows, I now have over 300 arrows....
Only on that character though, so I am very glad this bug showed up on the correct character.

An arrow-related bug that I enjoy is giving a follower a single arrow - say, Daedric and they have an infinite supply. Every other corpse coughs up a few and I can use them with my character or sell them.

This. And another variation of it- giving an arrow to one of the eternally-doomed-to-practice-shooting Solitude guards and getting a handful of arrows from the target every minute.

I had never tried that - I guess you reverse pickpocket the arrows onto them?

Well, I don't do followers, so she's useless to me. It depends on the toon which star I wind up with.

Recruiting a Follower who can train you, taking your money back from them and paying for more training. Being able to buy training from vendors and then being able to sell the enchanted items to them to get the money back. My Mages are still always broke until level thirty though

I'd say the trainer-follower 'glitch', although since both bits of code are working properly I'm not sure it's actually a bug. Of course, I have no way to know if they intended it to work that way, so...

Yup. It's pretty awesome when you need arrows, since I found out that even on higher levels, the only person that I've seen selling Daedric/Ebony was the Solitude Fletcher. And I can't use the follower exploit since I use a Hunting Bow fixing mod.

I like the fact that a Mage can purify the Focal Points in the COW and have overpowered Magicka Regeneration for a long enough period of time to get quite a few levels by repeatedly casting spells like Muffle or Detect Life, I just discoverd this a few days ago and remembered it while I was at work last night.

The one in Whiterun occasionally sells them too, but it's a rare item for him and he only ever has a couple at a time when they do show up. Things like that led to me adding arrow recipes to the forge.

Btw, what's wrong with the Hunting Bow? The only problem I had with it is that you can't craft them, but I fixed that in the same mod that added the arrow recipes.

This bug is nice, but it's caused by the Hunter's bow that always comes back and always gets used no matter how much better the bow you give them is. There are mods that fix the Hunter's bow issue, but they also make it so your follower doesn't have infinite ammo anymore because the infinite arrow bug is caused by the Hunter's bow bug.

I agree with the OP about the Black Star.. please don't fix this Bethesda lol

I don't exploit bugs. The more you agravate them the more the game comes apart.
The more you activate bugs the worse they get.
And I want all bugs possible fixed.

And I have no patience to piss about with the Hircine quest. I take one thing and that's it.
I am doing the oblivion walker trophy now, and the best way to do with that is play it straight and plan ahead and make sure you get every item you need.
Whoever you have to kill, you are far better being straightforward.

Those damn musical instument quest bugs. They are so annoying!
I could'nt hand ANY of them in, at all, last time. They just sat in my inventory, doing nothing. Adding weight.

I prefer not to exploit glitches.

But sometimes I do and one of my favorites not mentioned is the unlimited weight a follower can carry.

Not sure if they have fixed it since my newest character has not been receiving help in the form of cheating.

I agree although I will have to take both items for the achievement because I will not participate in canibalism. Not willingly anyways.

All followers come with a hidden hunting bow which prevents them from using any other bow given. Even mages have them, even though I haven't seen any mage follower but Aranea use it. Basically I'm using a http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=6520 that lets you remove it so they'll equip what's given to them.

Also, I've never seen Eorlund have any Daedric arrows, even on level 65. You must be really lucky, I guess. I don't think I've seen him selling anything Daedric, actually. Usually the Markarth or the Solitude smiths have some Daedric weapons in my game, but nobody else.

For daedric arrows in Whiterun, try the guy at the Drunken Huntsman

He deals with you fairly, even when you don't do what he says. So I will always deal straightforwardly with him.
