Legion Attack on Site

Post » Wed Apr 13, 2011 2:27 am

Not wearing NCR armor, legion attacks me on site no matter what I do. Ive got the mark of Caesar, so should be nuetral. I wear armor... I turn in a hundred dogtags and become idolized and wait 3 days....

Its a bit of a problem because I havnt done any of the stuff at fortification hill yet, thus its kind of getting in the way.

Oh Ive even tried resetting my faction status with console commands (then waiting 3 days) and again nothing....

Thanks for any help in advance.

May seem silly to ask as I'm sure you tried this first but... is Boone with you?

If he isn't then you need to use those faction commands but not just with the generic legion faction but also with the hidden sub-factions (used for various triggers with some of the factions - for example powder gangers saying to stay away from their outposts but not being hostile to you in the prison itself). If you are unsure how to find all the codes for those just reply and I (or someone not going to sleep right now) can probably extract them from the geck for you really quick. With those hidden sub-factions though I don't suggest doing anything but clearing and zeroing them as they are not meant to handle much else besides hostile/non-hostile.

I dont have boone with me. Ive got Arcade and Ede who should have no problem. If you wouldn't mind extracting the codes Id be very grateful, figure I may as well try.

Thanks again.

ok well before doing that I'll post this:

setenemy F F X Y - Set a faction as enemies with another. (F = faction ID, X = 0/neutral or 1/enemy, Y = 0/neutral or 1/enemy)

May need to be used in lieu of just upping rep (also probably for the sub factions when I look them up in a second)

For example:

setenemy 0001B2A4 000EE68A 0 0

In this case "0001B2A4" is the player faction and 000EE68A is the legion. Not sure if it matters if it is first or second. This should set overriding enemy flags off. If that command does not work (and neither does reversing the order) then go ahead and repeat it with the "player" faction and each of the following:

0012677F
00137324
0013ACAB
001252C7
00154418

Yeah sorry it took so long- I don't know of a good way to cut and paste table info out of the GECK. Those are the most likely culprits beyond the "enemy" flag being set for the general faction.

It would help to know though if ALL legion are hostile to you or what? It sounded like they weren't all hostile though since you could turn in dog tags.

Only managed to turn in the dog tags by wearing armor. Problem is that the moment I go talk to Caesar in armor the guards immediately attack me and he wont talk to me.

Oh yeah sniffers will attack you if you're in faction armor- particularly the ones in his tent. In fact I think there's an automatic assumption that if you walk in there with faction armor it's because you're there to assassinate Caesar. Reasonable assumption for hyper-loyal bodygaurds to make I guess. An imposter wearing a military uniform walks into the head of state's private residence- you don't stop to think "is he a friendly imposter?"

Still... the disguise system can be very inconsistent in how much sense people's behavior makes when you're wearing one.

Anyways- did those commands help (without ANY faction armor on of any kind including fiend helmets).

When they attack, are the by any chance attacking ED-E or Gannon first? I've had that happen w/ ED-E. From what I've been reading on the forum, it seems that if food or water is being carried by companions, starving NPCs will attack them. This has happened to me in Cottonwood Cove even being liked by the legion. I just chose to have ED-E wait outside of the area while I turned in tags.
