Legion Coin and NCR Dollars : Fallout: New Vegas

Is there a benefit to exchange caps for Legion Coin or NCR Dollars? Or is it for purely just for RPing purposes?

Like if I broke the bank at the casino and asked for Legion Coin for my wins for example, will that value be higher than if I just asked for caps?

Does value of Legion Coin and NCR Dollars change with barter skill or is it always constant?

Just for flavor. Always constant.

One exception is the lowest denomination of Legion coins are used to craft coin shot shotgun ammo.

Pre-war Money IS affected by barter skill, just for reference.

I exchange all of my money for Legion coins so I can have a steady supply of coin shot for my shotguns. It is good stuff.

I believe someone once said that if you exchange chips for a certain denomination of Legion coins (not the largest kind, not the smallest), then you can make a profit. Not sure if it's true though.

well, usually you use the NCR moiny/legion coins for trading inside a merchant, so go find it in your inventory and literrally trade it

Legion money is used in my shotgun to shoot in their legion faces.

Legion coins, and NCR dollars are good if you are a low level character in need of fast cash, and if you have visted a casino. Take those coins and dollars, cash them in for chips, then cash out the chips for caps, easy money.

Coins are also good for coin shot rounds.

Both are good as a way of trading, if you want to save your caps.
