Legion stormed Forlorn Hope : Fallout: New Vegas

Okay, so I just did Caesars quest to destroy Houses' bunker, I returned to my home the Abandoned BOS Bunker and went towards Forlorn Hope for a hunting trip and out of nowhere around 15 recruit legionnaires storm the place killing every NCR in sight.
Is this suppose to happen at this area or is this a glitch or Legion patrol that has wandered off their designated area?
Cause this has never happened to me before.

Was pretty awesome watching NCR dies by recruit legionnaires wielding only machetes though.

Nope, everyone supposed to be at Nelson is at Nelson.
And the recruit legionnaires are still at Forlorn Hope, it seems like they all have a script telling them to walk to a certain spot in front of the officer tent so they are walking towards each other at the same spot.

I wish there were more of this kind of thing. Legion attacks and captures station delta, days later ncr troops are dispatched from camp golf to retake the outpost etc. The only place I ever see anything is that one legion raid camp runs out to attack some random ncr patrol.

If this is a glitch then I gotta say that it's a freaking awesome glitch!

Yeah on mine a bunch of NCr would always attack Nelson, BoS bunker is a nice place.

I think it might be some of those "random" encounters Sawyer (iirc) mentioned at some point during the developement.

I've seen small groups of Legionaries spawn inside Camp Forlon Hope occasionally, but never that many. They always get butchered by the PA wearing heavy :shakehead:

The ncr attacking nelson is a quest for the ncr. Normally you have to interact with an nov first to give them a battle plan if I remember right.

Well I never accepted that quest though, the legionnaires at Forlorn Hope killed all officers before I could kill them.

I have seen things like a group of legionaries attacking ranger stations, but I have never heard of them raiding Forlorn Hope.

It actually sounds like a glitch, since that it is a quest location.

And how exactly did the recruits kill ranger vets and heavy troopers?

There aren't any vets or heavy troopers at Forlorn Hope, too early in main quest probably.

Alright.

According to the Falloutwiki, legionaries periodically attack Forlorn Hope and troopers occasionally attack Nelson, but usually not that many. It also says that they repulse the attacks, so it sounds odd that the legionaries killed them.

How did the troopers do?

I only came across a couple of glitchs like that. I was sent to take care of the leader of the Fiends and when I got there thiry to forty NCR soldiers spawned around him and shot him until he died and long after, wierd.

Another one was when I went to the Fort and after I went into Caesar's tent a veteran ranger spawned near me and shot Caesar in the head. He was taken down beofre he could kill anybody else but I repect him for his bravery and stealth. There really should be a saluting emoticon.

How did the troopers do?

Erm... They clustered up and I shot them with AER14 and had the Meltdown perk... So the battle was over pretty quick. :laugh:

Some times the fight would get rather one sided. For example, in one of my characters Nelson is full of NCR troops when I do "In my own yard." With another character which only the Guard tower Range holding off the wave after wave of Legion attackers.

Usually when I see the Legion entering the camp in my game they just get mowed down in gunfire. (Only 3 come in at at time) I did have a random cazador attack the camp though. Lots of them were just there when I entered the camp pissed me off to because it gave me bad rep with the NCR and I didn't even do anything.

Not really FNV is always buggy as hell so you learn to expect these things. Plus it teaches you to keep multiple saves.

Sarah Weintraub spawned on me when I was at the Fort once, I waited for an hour to let ED-E catch up then she just appeared, opened dialogue, I pulled out and she walked off towards the exit...
Weird.

I've had an NCR patrol at Cottonwood Cove actually, but they got nowhere, IIRC they managed to kill a single legionnaire...

Still, awesome glitch sounds awesome. Dynamic bases would be great fun.
