Less than 5 people playing Brink online?

I seriously can't believe that:

I am trying to find a nice Competition game in Brink but obviously nobody is playing it anymore. Tried it three or four times in last week and either a new game with me being the only player was created or I was put together with one or two other players and we had "fun" killing each other in the warm up phase until one of us left. Probably the most disturbing situation was playing with 9 people in warm up for around 1 hour (!!) without somebody else joining, so that we could had started the game.

When I tried my Level 7 character I found a full game immediately - however I'd really like to play as it was intended (all perks/possibilities) and not with only half skills available.

Anyway, I am just completely stunned, that this is happening - a competitve multiplayer shooter, which is around two months old, is obviously played by less than 20 people in Europe at the same time (assuming that Brink's matchmaking does not limit me to my own country). Just completely unbelievable ...

Are you experiencing similar problems?

Yeah if you want to play competitive you really need to join a clan and arrange them.

I cant believe theres only 5 people playing either. I just bought the game in ASDA the other day because it was £20 rollback and figured there'd be a few people online who also would have picked it up for that price. I seriously cant be the only one who bought the game that day. It has to be a matchmaking issue. I managed to play with 1 person earlier but thats all Ive met. There must surely have been more than 2 people playing the game at 7pm GMT. The stats say the Resistance won 59,000 battles this week and Security must have come close to that too so thats around 100,000 matches this week yet I only found one person playing. That guy must have been a very lonely man playing on his own that many times or its not matching people up properly so the only way I can see is to join a clan and Im really not up for that because Street Fighter is my primary game to play and I dont want to have pre organised Brink time disrupting that.
