Anyone here watch Let's Play videos on youtube?

I've recently started watching them to get to sleep, or when I can't be bothered actually playing myself, but I've had trouble finding ones that are entertaining, and don't run into problems after the 3rd or 4th episode. I've started watching like 4 Fallout 3 LPs, but the people playing them svck and spend all their time picking up clutter while ignoring good items. There was also one NV LP that just when I thought he was going to finally get out of Primm (the place where I always lose interest and stop playing), he missed a dialogue option and backtracked to Goodsprings to play the tutorial mission :banghead:

So, basically what I want are some recommendations for some entertaining, focused, LPs done by people who sound confident behind the mic. RPGs are preferred, but also other games with more open gameplay like SWAT 4 are welcome too.

So, you try to fall asleep to other people playing games? That is one of the strangest things I've heard. Do other people do this too? I always manage to nod out playing my own games.

Pretty much, I've blown through all my audiobooks, all my DVDs, all my videos, the entire collection of David Attenborough documentaries, and now I'm left struggling to find youtube videos which I can zone out to, and Let's Plays seem to fit the bill.

My Favorite Lets Player, http://www.youtube.com/user/Teamudf. He does Zelda, Has a finished LP of Mass Effect 2, Oblivion reviews, Minecraft and he just started Super bomberman. Hes great, check him out.

You may be interested in Game Informer's http://www.gameinformer.com/p/replay.aspx, or their Super Replays, which are split up into multiple, 1 hour long parts. Watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZ_bhwCgtXg and see how you like it, there are already 48 parts so if you like it you'll have plenty to watch. I don't think it's started to decrease in quality at all, but that may be helped by the fact that the game, and the person reading the text, is what makes it so funny.

I love Let's Plays
Nintendocaprisun has very good LPs, they mostly span the Nintendo library, but the's a good LPer all the same

Toegoff is another good one, he's a bit arrogant but he's done a wide variety of games that span across the board of genres and his commentary is pretty good

GixG17 (who I'm currently watching) probably has the best Morrowind Let's Play on Youtube In my opinion. he's also doing an Oblivion LP and occasionally Daggerfall (he's so far only LP'd TES games)

Tatsudoshi has gone so far as to outright profit from his LPs, he's okay, but I'm not as entertained by him as I used to be, he generally does Co-op LPs now with his brother in Law and Fiancee and from what I see he's kind of a jerk when it comes to playing games. he insults the audience constantly (it's not just funny insults either some of these are just plain mean) he likes to taunt his audience by not playing some part of a game and reminding you of it, finally like I said, he seems to treat his fellow co-opers like crap. I get it's part of a persona he's playing, but sometimes he really does just come off as a mean-spirited [censored].

Chuggaconroy is more or less like NCS, primarily focuses on Nintendo games, but different ones from NCS

The Spoonyone is one of my favorite E-celebritiesm but he doesn't do that many LPs.

Caliform does a good Minecraft LP

finally there's the Yogscast, they do mostly Minecraft and WoW LPs but they're freakin' funny. The Yogscast stars two guys from England named Simon and Lewis, occasionally Simon's girlfriend joins in, but that's rare.

MoltovMarioWorld is one of the funniest LPers of all time, IMHO. The dude goes absolutely bat [censored] insane playing difficult Mario Rom hacks (Do not try and fall asleep to him). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nahblvzSUz0&t=1m10s.

RaidouFrost is another good one. His Shin Megami Tensei 1 and 2 playthroughs are fantastic and hilarious, and he's also done LPs for Silent Hill 1-3. I enjoy Raocow's LP's a great deal. His voice is hilarious.

I really enjoyed call of cthulhu LPs mostly because of the swearing , i broke at least one keyboard during my play and those posters proven that i am not mad or anything

The best I've seen so far have been the Yogscast, naturally. NintendoCapriSun and also Retsupurae are great. Kung Fu Jesus & co also have some great let's plays. I think a lot of them are uploaded under the name pokecapn. Check out their sonic ones for hilarity.
