Here are some of my ideas
Blocking; I think that blocking with a weapon should be a percent chance, based on your block skill and your opponents weapon skill (obviously the chance would be higher if u had a higher block skill, and lower if your opponent had a higher weapons skill). And to add a chance for the player to shine, if while block the player moves in the direction the attack is coming from they gain a bonus to the chance to successfully stop the attack.
Special moves: As a you level up your weapons skill you would gain access to "special moves". For example, a disarming move, a move that includes a feint (it would lower the targets chance of blocking that attack), a ducking a stabbing move (for daggers), A sweep at the legs, etc. These moves would be activated by some keys (i don't know which) and two would be able to be on these keys at once.
