Level 32 and have not done any quests yet

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 3:24 pm

At least think I'm 32 it somewhere in the 30s. Have not fought a dragon, have not got a golden claw, all I have done is escaped helgen. My speech is 71, destruction is 90, restoration is around 70, conjuration is around 70, illusion 95, blacksmithing is around 50, enchanting like 70, tonight will get alchemy to 100. I'm estimating I will be around lvl 45 before I do a quest.

I'm on the same boat, leveled up Smithing, Enchanting and Alchemy.

Haven't done the MQ for the Jarl in Whiterun yet. Just bought my first house in Riften. I'm itching for some Dragon Armor though so I'm probably going to start the MQ soon... =p

Sounds incredibly boring to me. Why sit around powerleveling stuff, just go enjoy the game. Its not exactly an MMO ya know.

That's what I did with my first character. I spent about 60 hours exploring the game world. I did no quests during that time. My quest journal was still empty after 60 hours, except for a notation telling me to go to Riverwood. It was some of the funnest 60 hours I've spent in this game. I will probably do it again with a future character.

The longer I play RPGs the less interested I am in quests. I like to make up my own stories, invent my own quests, get into my own adventures. The Elder Scrolls series allows me the freedom to do that and it's the major reason why Bethesda is my favorite game studio.

Because I play so many characters, I made a base character with Alchemy/Enchanting/Smithing/Speech maxed, and over 100K gold + materials. Level 37 with no kills lol.

I accidentally swung a dagger at some point so my favorite weapon isn't 'None' unfortunately. :(

Who said I'm not enjoying it? Already spent hundreds of hours exploring, finished all main and guild quest lines so now I'm making badass Mage and go around getting everything. Buy all the houses seeing I will have endless money seeing I can make banish daggers for under 100 gold seeing I can get filled soul gems for free. I'm really doing same thing you guys do that go around doing quests, eventually if you make your own gear you will be op, only difference is iwill be op sooner.

How can you do all this and only find 5 locations?

River wood to sell stuff.
College to train.
White wood to blacksmith
Dragon reach to enchant
Dawnstar for hidden chest
Riften to lvl speech

Ok so 6

Go dawnstar raid chest, sell in river wood, train, power level.
Back to dawnstar to raid chest,....,....,....,.....,....
Back to dawnstar etc etc

If you were really dedicated, you could do it with 3: Helgen, Whiterun, Dragonsreach.

 It's nice sometime to have a good laugh. But you are quite right. Everyone must play the way he enjoys the most. I admit that I started the MQ only after level 20-25. Didn't want to be bothered by a dragon while visiting ruins, dungeons, cities and increasing my skills by smithing, enchanting, and also spending lots of time in alchemy. So I was quite ready when I visited Winterhold for the first time. I had good weapons and good gears. I had a lot of experience in fighting in caves, dungeons, etc. Yes it was fun.LOL I had no house so I dropped all my stuff in front of the main door of Valtheim Towers that I had previously cleared. Bandits never respawned there.

Edit: By the way what is this hidden chest in Dawnstar?

There is a kitty on left when you spawn at dawnstar, the hidden chest is all her merchandise. you can pretty much take it all, wait two days then talk to her again and chest will be filled again, but you need tontalk to her for it to respawn.

Stupid. Your missing out on the game. That wouldn't be so bad if you were just exploring the map without exploits. That brings me to my other point, your using exploits. All your doing is overpowering yourself so when you finally start doing quests it'll be so easy it won't be fun. But who am I to judge you can play Skyrim any way you choose. It's my opinion but I do think your ruining the experience. Your going to destroy the enemies on most of the quests. Go do some quests and you can finally see how awesome this game really is. Your missing out on the wabbajack.

You must of missed my post where I said I've already spent 400 or so hours doing them all. I sold that staff the moment I got it. Plus I thought the quest was lame and a insult to a dadric artifact.

Sure did. I just hate to see when people actually don't play the game an just sit in one area for hours on end. I think everyone should see Blackreach and Sovngarde.

What the heck were you thinking! You sold the wabbajack! I love turning enemies into little rabbits lol. I really am just hanging onto it for the crazy lady who asks you to use it on her.

QFT. I'm doing that on a bunch of toons now.... it's a whole lot more fun than scripted questing, MQ etc. In fact, this is pretty much what I did in all the other games as well - first toon run through the MQ and then another toon or so for any major side questlines - then YEARS of fun playing my own games. That's the BEST thing about TES, after all!

But who are you to decide how someone else plays this game, and what is or isn't fun? Each to her own. And I never get the wabbawhatsis because I REALLY dislike whatshisname.

1st play thru didn't know it was dadric artifact. Quest seemed too simple for it to be one. This play thru want to be op and just go around shooting fireballs up people's [censored]'s. Don't care about challenge just want to get everything I can and display it in houses before dlc comes out.
