level cap not workin : Fallout: New Vegas

for some reason i cannot go higher than 30 whenever a level to 30 it says max xp and i get no new xp?

Had the same problem (s).RE- downloaded dead money with an newer update wed. morning. my XP cap has now been enabled (but why 5 when it takes 2 for a perk?)
