Level for Honest Hearts

As the topic says, I am trying to figure out what level would be appropriate to enter the HH DLC. I went in at level 32, after DM and the White Legs were using .45 Autos at some points, but mainly 12.7mm Machine Guns and lots of Shishkebabs. It isn't game breaking or anything, it just seems off, like maybe I should have done the DLC with an earlier save, around level 15 or something. I saw several White Legs aiming Anti-Material Rifles at me. What are your thoughts on this, and am I just caring too much about a trivial detail?

Well I started playing HH an level 8. Tribals are using mainly low/mid level weapons, so the game play is quite enjoyable. My guess is that the best level to start HH is between let's say 8 to 14, but that's just only my opinion.

HH has no level recommendation. This is mostly because unlike Dead Money, the scenario does not put all players on basic even ground (all gear stripped, objectives are specifically designed to expect a higher level of skill requirements to accomplish tasks properly, etc). Instead how challenging HH is depends largely on how challenging the player wants to make it, if you're able to. The initial trip has a really low weight limit, which restricts how much gear you bring into it. There are several ways to raise the limit, which would allow you to carry a bit more stuff. More importantly, it depends on what you actually decide to bring in.

If you have a very high level character, not bringing any high end gear into the scenario at all can still make it pretty damn challenging until you find good loot in Zion itself. On the other hand if you have a lower level character, you can still compensate for it if you have really good gear. By bringing your best weapons and equipment into Zion, it would give even a lower level character good odds at surviving well. Don't forget, you can also bring in mags to help with skill checks as well, if you're not feeling confident of your current level.

Hope that helps.

Hmm, when I played they mainly had AM Rifles and Brush Guns, they we're dealing decent damage. I was able to take them out in a low amount of hits with the .45 Auto Pistol and the All-American but they deal a lot of damage. You have to really hit them before they can hit you.

I would say level 20 at least?
