leveling illusion

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 9:07 am

So I started my new character which is a Khajiit, I named him dro 'something' because in morrowind all the khajiit names start with dro. I thought it was strange not to be able to put an apostrophe in the name, but that is beside the point . It's primarily stealth and I have my weapons worked out. dual wield daggers going armsman, savage strike, and dual savagery, not bladesman. I'm hoping to get the Vladr's lucky dagger and mehrunes. I'm doing perks in pick pocket, stealth, one hand, light armor, archery, and then I thought I want illusion, possibly alchemy. I intend to use thieves armor and/or db armor, and then settle for nightingale. But when I started thinking of illusion, I really want to use it. I put a perk in it and right now I can only use fury and clairvoyance. I thought even though muffle and fear are apprentice level I thought I could possibly use those as well when I get my magicka up. My question is I'm having a hard time leveling illusion. Right now its only at about 17 and I have to get at least 25 to do apprentice level. Any suggestions on how I could level this skill, I really want to use it?

To level mine I cast fury a lot on enemies to get them fighting each other and I kept casting repeatedly on some other enemies I was fighting. Also use muffle when you are sneaking around that had helped ne level illusion as well.

Buy muffle when you can, you can cast it on yourself all the time, and it levels up pretty fast.

Why can't you put an apostrophe in your name? I've been able to on both X-Box 360 and PC.

And why is that what stood out to me in the post?

Muffle will level it quickly, outside of combat. Make sure you have the Mage stone and you are rested.

I'm not 100% sure, but I thought those spells increased the skill about the same. Muffle was just convenient because of leveling outside of combat.

They do I just used fury if there was one enemy but I used frenzy if there was a group. Muffle is useful for leveling it outside combat yes, but I mainly leveled it up in combat. It just seemed to work faster leveling it up in battle for me.

EASY!! All you do is use muffle over and over. Conjuration and all others are WAY more difficult to upgrade

I did this in the beginning without muffle of course. I did use muffle when I went into cities on occasion.
