Haven't seen a function for this but in game I'm level 22 and my companion who back when I was level 1 seemed really strong is now becoming more and more of a liability cos his health/stamina is not increasing.

I swear back in morrowind the companions would level up with you? Can't remember exactly but would be nice for something like this in Skyrim.

Right now the easiest work around is to tell your follower to stop following. Then open the console, select them and type disable, hit enter. Then type enable, hit enter. Then exit console and tell them to follow you again. Should be leveled now.

I think the Follower Fix mod might make leveling work but I'm not really sure. Lydia is pretty strong right now for me, but I haven't really been able to test it.

OK thanks man, I had to dismiss Stenvar rather than simply tell him to wait to get it to work.

So dismiss, disable and re-enable him then rehire him.

Checked it with my debug spell and before his health was 205 and stam 80 (this is his default stats, hired him at level 1 so his HP/STAM hasn't changed in 22 levels lol). Now his health is 345 and stamina 130. Now he can actually tank again on expert difficulty!

The only problem is when dismissing the character it messes up their inventory, some of the stuff I gave him remained but others disappeared but thats just another thing to keep in mind when doing the work around; need to strip them of their gear first and then give it all back to them.

I never had an issue with inventory, though. That's a bit odd but it must be because he's a merc?
