Leveling Weapon Skills?

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 3:04 am

Alright, so I am at a point now where I need to level weapon skills I don't normally use like two-handed and one-handed. Is the experience given on the number of attacks like it was in Oblivion or is it by the amount of damage done with the given weapon.

Thanks in advance for any info.

the more you use a specific weapon the more it levels.... the more it levels the more you can unlock things in that tree.

I have 1 archery. i use my bow all the time and get it to 70. i can unlock and put perks in any archery skill 70 or lower. Basically the more you use it the better you get at it.

So it is then by weapon strikes? Oblivion's skill level up was based on the amount of times you hit something with your weapon.

I am looking to "power level" two handed weapons. I was wondering if I would get a better benefit from grabbing an Iron Greatsword and just continually swing away at a Giant (or something similar). Or if I got more experience by grabbing a Daedric Greatsword and swung away.

I believe destruction magic is by damage, so you get the same for doing a fireball spell (5 damage) 5 times as you would doing a better fireball spell (25 damage) once. This is where my question lies.

Thank you for your response. If anyone was curious I am interested in hitting the level cap of 81 (currently 66) and my archery is level 100 so I need to move onto different weapons.
