Liches?

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 9:52 pm

I'm a bit sad that there are no Liches in skyrim, perhaps at the end of a dark necromancer lair, or a dungeon boss. I guess Dragonpriests are basically the equivilent of liches, but it isn't the same. I liked the lore, and darkness that surrounded Necromancy in oblivion, and that isn't in this game. The only logical explanation I can find, lore-wise why there are no Liches, is that somehow in the past two-hundred years, the recipe for becoming an undead lich became lost. Maybe, they'd introduce Liches in a DLC, or something? I don't know.

Yeah, I miss'em too, I loved them in Oblivion. I guess the dragon priests are their "replacement".

Necromancy itself is no longer really dark and mysterious lore-wise so I guess that has something to do with it.

Dragonpriests are not their "replacement", they ARE liches. Just ones that happened to be associated with a dragon cult specifically.

found it!
You wish to become a lich? It's very easy, my friend. Simply find the heart of a lich, combine it with the tongue of a dragon, and cook it with the flesh of a well-ridden horse. This combination is certain to make you undead - M'Aiq the Liar

Edit... These things no longer seem so unattenable anymore, do they!

Liche's are undead masters of necromancy... Dragon Priests float around aimlessly and seemingly know how to use 3 basic spells... None of which are necromantic at all from what I saw. They may "look" like liches, but an undead dragon worshipping priest is not the same thing.
