Light Character Unlock confusion...

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 12:30 pm

I've been reading everywhere that you unlock it at rank 7, but I was looking at the Steam Achievements and "You're Going Places Kid!" achievement has the description "Reach Rank 2"

Can anyone clear things up for me?

Rank 2 is level 5-9, but you unlock the Heavy at level 5 and the Light at level 7

Yes, you unlock it at level seven. That's just a saying, although I understand why you think it'd be fitting for unlocking the light body type. Personally I'm a little disappointed you unlock it just under mid way through the game. Oh well.

The Heavy unlock achievement description says "Reach Rank 5" though

And I'm fairly sure I have read that it is unlocked at Level 5 :l

And I'm not the only one who has read this, give me your link and I'll check what the confusion is about

EDIT: Okay, I've seen what you're confused about

''Time to start a new character'' - 100g

It doesn't mean it unlocks the bodytype, just that you've reached max level

You still unlock Heavy at Level 5, and Light at Level 7

See the Light and the Heavy pictures as metaphors of your character getting some fat on his bones, that he has been through alot and is now a rugged hard-ass

The achievement says nothing about unlocking heavy, I think the picture is just to "show" you how far you've come. Heavy is at lvl 5. BTW does anyone know if after you unlock light and heavy you can use them for others without getting to 5 and 7?

well the title of this achievement is "Time to start a new character" so I assume there is no link with the heavy it's just that you have maxed a character the heavy picture is because you're bouse!!

Once something is unlocked, you can use it on all of your characters I believe, hm? Except for abilities

So you might see a Heavy strutting around when you're level 1

Atleast that is how I got it with the customization.. To be honest, I'm not sure if that also goes for the bodytypes

They just use the icon for the Heavy. It doesn't have anything to do with the Heavy.

At Rank 5, you are level 20, that maximum level for a character. It is then time to start a new character.

i dont know why all 3 body types are not available at the start of the game. surely if they all have there pros and cons its makes no difference. i mean at the end of the game all 3 will be available to you so will that make the game unbalanced. no so why not give us them all right away.

With the Medium you'll get the ''balanced'' health and weaponry

Then when you're used to the gameplay and know what you're doing you will eventually get the other two, the Light being the last due to him being the one dying the fastest and having the smallest arsenal of weapons

If you were in the mind-set of playing as a Light from the start and you ended up dying over and over again, would that be as fun as playing as a Medium from the start with bigger chances of survival due to more health and more default weapons?

Giving us the Medium first and having to level up to get the other ones sounds perfect, let us get some meat on our bones before we start going on a diet of vegetables and air or hamburgers and lard
