Light class with AR

Is it just me or does it seem like the light class is super nerfed since its the last body type you unlock you would think it was the best but there reduced hp, and very limited guns i understand this games based of parcore however first and for most its a shooter and the light class is weak in that sence it has very limited options in firearms, the medium class is well balanced med hp and access to most weapons, leaving the heavy class which i believe is overpowered lots of hp, full auto nade launcers, lmgs, and secondary up to AR, i know they cant parcore but who cares went ur a bullet sponge and have the most powerful weapons, i think light should have access to Assualt rifles but still can only have pistols as secondary that way there not like medium who can have smgs as secondary, now im assuming the DEVS dint give light class AR cuz they thought it would be hard to parcore with a assualt rifle instead of a small smg but light class can uses snipers which are heavier and or the same weight as AR's would be. to sum things up id like to see light classes have access to AR, now im assuming this wont change and im fine with it i just think if the devs did as a stated here it would make alot of people happy.

I'd like to see some more options - maybe revolvers with LESS recoil. Sorry but Borderlands spoiled me and I tried carrying a scoped revolver for long shots as my secondary. Not a good idea.

No, the Lights don't have ARs for a reason. I play a light, and the ability to move and escape combat, and the ease of flanking more than make up for less powerful guns, and besides, a single Machine Pistol clip (Belgo or, in my case, the Hockler) will drop anyone if you've got a weapon buff, regardless of their health.

As a light, pick the weapon to suit your role. When I'm playing an Operative, I'll use the Drognav with the Coga scope. I lay turrets and mines, and sit in the back plucking away getting 2-shot kills. As an Operative, I stick with a submachine gun with the iron sights and duct-taped mags. Avoid combat when possible, engage when necessary and empty two clips. If that fails, run away. I can't offer a lot of insight to competitive games since I've only pubbed, but I imagine it won't be too different.

Uhm...ew? Let me tell you. I have a heavy class...and..bullet sponge or not....it doesn't take long to get them down. Fact is, I have longer life spans as a light. As a heavy, not much I can do. I go in, mow down one guy, and the rest of the team destroys me.

Nawh, AR's svck anyway, use a Carb 9 or the Kross and you will kill anyone in your path, and then use the Tokmak with rapid fire you can dominate anyone. The key for the light is to be fast and agile, smgs have a fast reload speed when you use the duct tape mag. Besides AR's are slow and don't pack the punch, they are really only good for the range but, you dont need range when your running up in ppls faces when your light body type.

I agree with you to a point, Drejnaught, except that an AR still out-damages an SMG regardless of range. The point of light is to be fast and use cover well enough that you can get the first shots off from the flank or rear. In that case you'll win regardless of weapon if you can shoot straight.

OP's post had the longest sentence I've seen since the 812-word one in Les Miserables.

Anyways, light classes are mostly suited for getting to and completing objectives quickly. Also, Light Soldiers with underslung grenade launchers with all the grenade buff abilities would be incredibly overpowered in my opinion.

If lights had access to ARs it would be chaos, we are already powerful enough as is considering the powerful revolvers and stable SMGs.

It does feel like Lights have limited power weapons but thats the price for speed.

They are not meant for the Frontlines, nor are they meant to have strong weapons. They're meant for movement movement movement and more movement.

Not to be gun power houses.

Ar′s for light class would be good, but they would probably have to ad more recoil for when "lights" use them.
But what i would really like too see "lights" with shotguns!

Lights should not get ARs (note: I only play light), your benefits are your speed and your maneuverability. And I get the 'most kills' award at the end of most rounds even as light with an SMG. However I'd like to be able to carry a shotgun as a light.
