Basically, when I'm playing Skyrim the lightest parts of my screen will start turning pink, instead of the color they should be. (presumably 'white') It shows up the most on the clouds in the sky, particularly light-skinned characters, spell effects and, of course, snow and ice. It's not a problem with the game itself, if I can tell, but with something about my computer reacting to the in-game...ness that's causing it. Temporary solutions include: quickly switching the in-game brightness slider up a notch and then back; alt-tabbing out of the game and then back into it; saving and reloading (low success rate for this one). All of these will only work for a short amount of time (anywhere from 'not at all' to several hours), and then the problem comes back. It's often triggered by my screen lighting up very quickly. (stepping outside into daylight from a dark cave, using a very bright spell effect, looking at snow) I used to be able to sort-of fix it by loading up the game with the video settings (chosen in the launcher) set to one thing, then saving, exiting, switching to a different setting, and loading back up. It would then stay okay for a play session. (until I saved and exited) It's not impacting performance in any way I can detect; it just looks cruddy, and kills my immersion and enjoyment.
It first began a few days ago. I'd had a number of mods install for weeks with no issues (that couldn't be fixed by removing an offending mod), when this started up. Removing all my mods didn't work. (in retrospect, because it's not the game itself that's the problem) Neither did uninstalling it and installing it again.
I'd show you screenshots, but like I said- it only shows up when I'm in-game. I've also noticed it in Fallout: New Vegas and (briefly) Star Wars: The Old Republic. My video card is GeForce GTX 560 Ti, and I'm running the 290.53 drivers. (first saw the issue with the 285.62 ones, tried upgrading to see if it'd help...which it didn't, obviously)
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium, and my computer is an HP Pavilion
Processor: AMD Athlon II X4 630 2.80GHz
RAM: 4.00GB
64-bit Operating System
As I said, repeated restarts of my computer, the game, re-installation of my video card drivers, and sacrificing a dozen live chickens to the dread god Zzz'dss'sdfdjg'sdfd have all failed to solve this problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
