Lighting shadows problem

I've got a problem with the lighting and I don't know what is causing it. After working for a while in the CK the shadows get messed up badly. You can see the problem on the following screenshots:

The first picture shows how the shadows look in the CK - they look as if there were faces missing on the mesh. This happens both with vanilla assets and with custom objects. In game the shadows don't look like that, instead it looks like on the second picture. The weird lines you can see in the vanilla game sometimes show up very badly.

It happens with just one light in the whole cell. I tried to adjust the bias settings, radius, rotation. Nothing. And the weird thing is that it happens after a while seemingly randomly. The lights and shadows look fine (both in game and in the CK) and then *bam* the bug happens. And there is nothing I can do to get rid of it. Deleting lights doesn't help.

Anyone knows what's going on here?

Looks like your Shadow Depth Bias is way off. Adjust it until it looks good. Hold alt+B and you can click and drag on it to adjust it by hand, or you can go to the Light tab in the reference window and set an exact number.

Having it too high appears to cause this shadow tearing, and having it too low makes it so that things far enough away are affected by the light, but dont cast shadows; while nearby things still do.

I tried that already, that's not the problem. And it looks way more messed up than anything the bias scale could ever do.

But I think I found out what is causing it. Whenever I apply a new model to an entry in the 'static' category the shadows get messed up. When I save the mod, reload the CK and save again it is fine again. As long as I don't add another model. Must be a bug with the CK, only wonder whether it is affecting all people or only those with a certain system setup. It's pretty weird as it does not only mess up the shadows in the CK, but also in game.
