Like a startling sign, That fate had finally found me...

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 1:36 pm

Well, After playing my main character for 282 hours without a serious glitch. I have one. I can't walk but for 5 or 10 minutes in the game world without it freezing. This is in hopes that Dawnguard will fix my main character and any other characters that have a lengthy play time for any other people. This may have already been fixed but i don't have Xbox live so i don't know. So until Dawnguard. Rest In Peace Dragonborn :violin:

How many saves do you have? Skyrim might be taking up a lot of space, so I would free up some by deleting old saves. Might help.

It's just the one character that's like this. It's size is 24 MB. Hehe. Every other character is fine.

Yes. It happened the first time at 1:00 AM yesterday. I got tired of resetting my Xbox so i went to bed. And it's still the same.

Some of my highest level characters keep doing this. Also everytime I become a werewolf whatever level I am fine for a minute but then it freezes.

could be save bloat. 282 hours is a long time and there are probably a few things that havnt been cleared out, I do believe patch 1.6 will fix a few things still bloating save games though,

That's good to hear. I hope it all works out. You get kind of a sentimental attachment to the first character you make.

 I have like 20 others that aren't my main. I'll play my Dunmer Nightblade until Dawnguard. He will also join the ranks of the Dawnguard seeing as how Azura is the god of Dawn and Dusk she wouldn't like it if it was night all the time.

My 360 main char does that as well.... 601 hours, done everything, 17mb

Luckily someone on the forums fixed my game save on pc... it was 19mb when i gave it to her, but it freezes anyway from time to time.

Why don't you go to a cell where you never go to and wait 31 days... and delete all you old saves?

24MB! No wonder, people have had problems at 14. I have 17 and am ok, just, apart from a few hiccups. If you can play for a few minutes at a time, I would empty all the chests, give the stuff the stuff to vendors and save. You lose kit, but the file might shrink appreciably when they restock. Nirnroot lighting won't help, but 1.6 should fix that. Also the weapons that enemies drop don't clear. It's a pain, but picking them up and placing them on corpses clears them at respawn.

@OP - the bloated save issue was corrected in one of the first patches. Assuming that your 360 is not connected to the internet (based on your comment about not having Xbox Live), then you're likely best off waiting for Dawnguard as it will come with the latest patch, though I'm not sure what mediums the DLC will be available through (disk and/or xbox live download).

All my old saves? I only have 1 save for this character.

I might try that if the game will stay up long enough without freezing.

Then do what zen1966 says => sell all your stuff or dump it on a bandit corpse... i had alot of stuff, but dumped it all... exept my good and unique stuff.

Oh yeah, and wait 31 days? it really helped me.

I should try this. I knew about the problem of weapons not clearing up properly, and floating weapons. I'm not playing skyrim until the new patch comes out. Why does waiting 31 days help with bloated saves?

So... what exactly have you been doing for the past +180 hours? My characters usually don't last past the 120 hour mark.

I'm guessing because he had gone so long without any thing happening and then suddenly out of no where he starts crashing, like fate had finally found him / caught up to him.

Also, have you checked your inventory for duplicate Dwemer museum keys? Some people have had 1000s of copies, slowing their games.
While a full cache can cause slowdown and stuttering, clearing it could possibly actually increase loading times temporarily, though there is no need to do it manually, just playing another game should do the trick.

Yes. Linkin Park is awesome.

Nope i didn't think of doing that. I'll have to try it.

Adventuring, exploring every dungeon, killing dragons, giants, Hunting with Faendal, doing every quest i can find etc.
