A Lil' Problem

Yeah so.... about a 2 weeks ago I figured out that the Dawnguard Add-On was about a new vampire lord play-style along with it's own perk system and the werewolves new perk system, it's very Underworld inspired I can tell. With my time with Skyrim, my one & only player character that I use (who has a lot of experience, lvl. 50+) was originally a vampire, then when I was in the middle of the Companions quest-line I was forced to become a werewolf. Now with this in mind I think I might have a problem becoming a vampire lord, because I think you might have to be a normal vampire in order to become a vampire lord? :sadvaultboy:

You can still become a VL but it will cure you Lycanthropy

Spoiler
or there is an oppurtunity to cure it later on, just remember that five heads are better than one

You can also cure your lycanthropy and become a Vampire again. Apparently you can even become a Werewolf again even outside the Companion's storyline in Dawnguard.
