Little help please?

Hi there. I've searched all over and apparently I'm not looking via the right means, but this was my last resort. Personally I like to try to feel things out on my own, but I digress at this point.

I'm new to the whole 'modding' thing. I mean ridiculously new. To the point where I know -nothing- of what I'm doing. I looked into the Creation Kit Wiki to get some ideas (cause hey, it's not everyday you get a game that literally lets you customize it how you feel, right?). So there I am, step by step on how to set up a new mod and what not. I go through the starter page with a bit of confusion, but I grasp the gist of it. So, I think "Hey, lets try this out with a new weapon or something?" So I jump to the customizing weapons/armor page. I figured it was something simple, but that's where it gets complicated....

I followed everything to a T, just to make sure that I was doing it correctly (because hey, I like getting things by instruction first, THEN expand on that knowledge for new things). Needless to say I go step by step for the 'Vorpal Sword', get it saved, get it kicked on and go through as if I was equipping from the console, and....

Apparently, it don't exist....

I get the "Item vorpalsword not found for parameter ObjectID"

I tried with two other 'modifications', both came up the same way. I tried readjusting the ID in the Creation Kit, still nothing.

Now, I'm utterly stumped. I tried backtracking to see if I messed up somewhere, but I'm still at a loss.

Any advice? Suggestions? Comments? I'm all ears, and greatly appreciate any help what so ever.

In game bring up the console, then type 'help vorpalsword'. You'll get lots of text but on one line it should say something like:
VorpalSword (02004EE4)
then take what's in the bracket and type 'player.additem 02004EE4'

Does that work?
