My little pony friendship is magic mod?

Post » Sun May 20, 2012 6:50 am

When the creation kit comes out. Is there going to be any mods for my little pony?

I know theres already my little pony mods out there but. Is there going to be a mlp quest or even voices or texture pack?

I'm sure there will be. I'm actually surprised I haven't seen more horse retextures to try and look like the ponies. Though I don't think a simple retexture would do it justice. We'd need a new model rigged to the horse skeleton.

That all depends on whether there are modders who chose to make such mods. There's not exactly a release schedule for these things, y'know. :)

But since there already are MLP mods up, I see no reason that there wouldn't be more...

Sounds like you are a bronie.
I don't have anything against them but you can count on one thing when it comes to my little pony mods. Or really any other mod in particular.

If you make it, it will exist.

Spike is a baby dragon, they're okay. When they get greedy and corrupted they turn into ze evil Skyrim dragons.
Put Fluttershy's speech from the Red Dragon episode instead of Dragonrend, that should show them.

I have linked to this thread in the Kid Friendly Overhaul. I'm thinking that cooperation is possible here.

My son is part of that group. The ongoing growth and development of this group of young men and women is fascinating to watch. Frankly, I would much prefer my son engaging in something fun, productive, positive and non violent, than what he could otherwise be doing.

Granted it is all pretty puzzling to me.

I watch it and love the show because it taught me a few things about life, and helped me get a new lease on it. I'm afraid it is nearly impossible for people to understand until it reaches them. I view it as a sort of religion (Not that I'm worshipping ponies just hear me out and mods this isn't discussing religion just read on) not everyone will understand it but we can only hope they come to accept it. (See that wasn't bad)

But on top of all that, it just makes me laugh sometimes. TBH the only MLP mod I want is a fluttershy companion. I could never bring myself to ride her... But it would be great to have her along in my travels.

If you lost your kid inside you lost big part of your dreams. I understand why grownups love my little pony, but i think teenager in the age of 10 to 14 or 15 will find it childish. My daughter (she is eleven) often things I am childish. Maybe I am ...

MLP is awesome, guise. If you don't understand, you haven't seen it!

I will admit that I would never use any of the current MLP mods. The exception is one I found that replaces the bards' flute music with the MLP theme music, because it's awesome.

I'd like to see My Little Pony Stew, cookable at a cooking station and My Little Pony Ingredients/items like Pony Eyes, Pony Ears, Pony Hide, and Pony Jerky. Orcs, of course, would pay more than other races for Pony Meat and such though to keep it lore friendly. Perhaps these items could be manufactured by the Falmer who would have little salted ponies strung up from Dwemer pipes and in their caves to cure, basted w/ & dripping BBQ along with pony heads instead of goat heads on sticks as decor. I'd also like summonable little ponies to perpetually summon and soul trap or to send out as a meat shields.

I've been working on a retexture of several heavily modded meshes and textures, basically combines some of the animation and meshes from a few different creatures in the game, mostly the horse, but about 1/2 the size (ponized) combined with provided that it applies, wings from the hawk/eagle increase in size to slip onto the body, and a horn from one of the other creatures, basically the center tusk from the horker flipped around for the unicorn horn where it is required. Textures are hard to get because if it's to "cartoony" then it really looks terrible and sticks out in the game far to much, but overly brining into the same color/appearance spectrum of the game makes it fall from appearing like an actual pony. So trying to find the balance of the MLP feel while maintaining the somewhat "realism" of the game is a difficult task. Most of the difficulty is in blending the solid appearance of the mlp with the fur/hair of a "real" horse. Initially i setup a test replacing the horses with the model, but that just kind of svcked and i too didn't like the idea of "riding" one of the mlp's, so i set it as a pet companion replacement for the dog. But only allows you essentially ONE pony to be present. I had done pinkypie and rainbow dash as a very poor mock up. The sound effect replacements were poorly implemented, but it's a work in progress. I had thought about replacing an actual character like lyndia so that there was full interaction and conversations that could be held, but it's a lot of work to do that without breaking a billion other things. Creation Kit appears to be the only REAL way to do it right. And i'm a crazy lunatic when it comes to trying to do everything spot on when possible.

BTW... as for the age group that seems to be most fascinated with MLP... there is several good reasons for it.

Considering the majority of the viewers are male and between the ages of 18-40... yes...... people in their 40's are watching it quite frequently too. There are good reasons.

1 Being it's comical style and animation is top notch, the level of detail is pretty good, so it's eye catching and doesn't have that "[censored]" looking appearance that previous generations of the series had, nor does it have overly "girlish" emphasis. They actually made it somewhat realistic in encounters and everyday issues, not to mention covers quite a bit of the various personality and traits that women do have and experience.. including men that can easily identify with.

The writing and directing of it is pretty damn good, the crew has openly accepted and ran with some of the MEMEs that basically fuelled it's explosion as one of the top shows on the planet for it's intended audience even though it's actually being bumped up significantly due to an unintended audience watching. The whole show was designed to be tolerable if not at least watchable by parents and older people, unlike teletubbies or barney which gives anyone over the age of 8 the sudden desire to choke the nearest living victim within the first 3 seconds of the opening sequence.

I could really go on and on. But even though i was seriously dubious of the entire thing as i hadn't watched a single part of an episode until i just finally gave up and said "dammit, i'm going to give 1 or 2 episodes a try and just see" well that turned into several episodes followed by watching every single one.

I'm sure enough of my masculinity that i don't have to worry about someone pointing a finger at me and making fun of me, if they want to be homophobic or complete idiots about it, that's their purgative, just because it has ponies and is initially directed to girls between the ages of 4 to 12 doesn't mean it's garbage for everyone else. If something is good, it's good, and anyone, doesn't matter whom I've shown it to, provided they are open minded enough to actual give it a chance, have all given the show a two thumbs up score.

It's just something you have to bite the bullet and watch a few episodes of. If you can get past the initial intro music/score which is a bit "over the top" you'll do fine. Personally i'm not a fan of the whole singing parts of SOME of the episodes (i'm glad it doesn't happen often at all)... the rest of it is actually pretty damn good.

It is... for lack of a better statement. A great work of art.

I've already seen MLP horse replacements (which are pretty well done considering the lack of CK), dragon replacements, retextures, etc. I have no doubt some guys will create quests and whatnot.

Personally, I use the MLP horse replacements just so I can kill them every time someone tries to shove the show down my throat... which annoys me greatly because I already think the show is good despite not being a "brony". Also, Skyrim horses svck.
