If it was just a southern accent it would be one thing, but her entire character character is just one giant southern hick stereotype that it's sad. If Pinkie had kept her Valley Girl streotype without picking up her quirks I'd probably not like her too, but her character evolved, unlike Applejack's (IMO)

On top of that, the cowboy hat is badass.

Anyway, I've always been a fan of cartoons made for kids but with advlt humor in mind (Animaniacs, Chowder, Billy and Mandy, etc), so I think it's cool. Not enough to change my never-changing avatar though.

It's hardly different, I'd say people like it because it isn't full of the postmodern crap and scatalogical humour that infests most children's cartoons these days. Its quite traditional really.
