My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic Thread 3

Post » Sun May 29, 2011 2:10 am

Wow. It seems like our fansite has a lot of power.

The bronies stuff started over there, with me admitting I liked MLP.

And then this happened.

Honestly, I'm like David Xanatos but a brony.

Though the only one I don't like is Applejack -- her southern accent drives me nuts.

Same. I don't mind Apple Bloom's though

I think Applejack's accent is endearing.

I wonder why there's so many haters.

Did you guys not like Powerpuff Girls either? And who among you is so blasphemous as to not like Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends? Because, here's a news flash, Lauren Faust was kind of a big deal in those projects. Powerpuff girls, especially, as you can see her art style everywhere.

Hmmm, tough call between Twilight and Rainbow... Though the only one I don't like is Applejack -- her southern accent drives me nuts.

Hers is the only one I can fully understand.

What, you think people are going to give something a chance or approach it reasonably before immediately hating it for being different? Welcome to Earth.

On top of that, the cowboy hat is badass.

I think Applejack's accent is endearing.

If it was just a southern accent it would be one thing, but her entire character character is just one giant southern hick stereotype that it's sad. If Pinkie had kept her Valley Girl streotype without picking up her quirks I'd probably not like her too, but her character evolved, unlike Applejack's (IMO)

On top of that, the cowboy hat is badass.

There's a reason why River Song shot off the Doctor's stetson :P

I've been lurking as a guest, signing in for 1 minute to post, then signing off to continue lurking as a guest for so long that I didn't even notice all of your avatars.

Anyway, I've always been a fan of cartoons made for kids but with advlt humor in mind (Animaniacs, Chowder, Billy and Mandy, etc), so I think it's cool. Not enough to change my never-changing avatar though. :P

It's hardly different, I'd say people like it because it isn't full of the postmodern crap and scatalogical humour that infests most children's cartoons these days. Its quite traditional really.

I've gotten used to the sterotypes. Northeners here aren't allowed on TV unless we're plucky but depressed miners, loveable chain smoking skinheads, or dinnerladies dispensing old fashioned grit and northern justice to school bullies.

HE HAS FALLEN

Not even close. Unlike you bronies, I actually maintain my sanity, and follow the teachings of Papa Smurf.

It's exactly as I thought it would be. A MLP-Animaniacs. Made for kids, but also made for parents who watch television with their kids and can pick up on stuff that got past the radar.

"Derpy Hooves"... Mad pony disease, right?

My sister collected these things. I stepped on one barefooted during a half-sleep excursion to the bathroom. Hurt like hell, so I cut it's legs off.

I've been reading these forums for a little while now, but 3 threads (and counting) dedicated to My Little Pony? Well... didn't see that one coming.

Still, whatever floats your boat. I'm not gonna player hate.

Oh god the infestation spreads. It's only a matter of time now until every corner of the internet is infected.

I live in the north, and those are definitely the only people that inhabit it.

I get to go back to the south in like a week :D

I think this sums up the whole thread nicely. Oh [censored]... I went to go and find a meme picture, and the website was being converted into pony versions of those memes. Good god, burn the thread. :flamethrower:
