2 locked doors at end of Black Book: Untold legends spoilers

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 4:14 am

Has anyone figured out how to open them/get on the other side?

The only hidden thing I found after spending hours trying to find way to get over there is where you kill lurker on pillar facing the acid tentacle sea theres one of those mouth chests but thats about it..

these doors are really pissin me off maybe a bethesda person could check it out? or drop a decent hint on this matter because the fact is that a couple doors are outwitting very attempt I make to open/get to other side really bugging me lol.

Ps I tried to swim through acid lake while healing to see if anything there....very counterproductive i think after a certain point it just insta kills you so yeah if someone finds the way post here and possible on the youtube vid some guy posted I know at least one other person was looking....

Could you perhaps use those enchanted boots to walk across the lake? Perhaps coupling that with whirlwind sprint?

I went through these doors using the wooden plate glitch. There's nothing on the other side but an empty room with a pool of murky water in the center. Eventually, a Lurker Guardian will pop out. Interestingly, a door will close on you after the Lurker is killed, sealing you inside. There's no way to open it. The way the door closes like that almost makes it seem like it was scripted to do so.

sure its all random loot on the other end, but to us hoarders who search everything down to the little sacks littered everywhere, we'll always be bugged by the question "what could i have found in that?"

Not that having the black book isnt bad but haveing loot/doors I can get through is like a challenge.....I dont like letting it beat me lol but if its just a developer oversight ok who knows maybe something will change or not regardless it seems odd that they would have doors and enemies behind them only for nothing to be done...hmm ah well hope everyone i having fun.

BTW I understand certain dialogue changes between you and baddies depending on whether you have completed story in main game story I was wondering what the difference was and If it was worth it to beat story first to hear dialogue or not? ps post spoilers if you need to.....or drop me a private msg....idk loving the dlc missing my severed nord leg from bloodmoon though....and hircines spear...

All I can think is they changed the level design pretty late to make it easier. The map does not precisely match that last area, maybe originally there would have been a scrye in that chapter III section all by itself with the seeker and the pod, that would have opened those corridors up and the book was going to be in there. I tested all the scrye's and none can be activated twice, all had to be activated to progress. In another book area some could be activated twice (or even more) if you missed something and went back another way to an earlier area, otherwise you would have been trapped. I really hate not being able to get those doors open. :(

I eventually after a lot of attempts with other things managed to get through both doors with a silver plate, used the switch to open the closed door and then went up the corridor and around the corner passed the open gate which is a bit hard to notice. Investigated the very unfinished looking area past each pool and then lured each Lurker Vindicator past the open gates so I could raid them once they were killed. The far gates close once the lurker is dead. The Lurker is triggered by going past the pool to investigate the far side, which has nothing interesting. I went around the side areas where the black water was, there was nothing. No nice books any where.

You cannot activate the ones we can see since they are on the other side of a locked gate. There were no scryes for the other gates, you could get trapped there if you were not careful.

You looked at some walkthrough and have absolutely no idea? The two locked corridors are way past any scrye you can activate, on the right or left side of anything. They are just before the book at the end of the level.

All I know is that It was simple for me at the time. I didn't need walkthroughs.

We are not talking about getting the book, that is easy, there were two locked corridors that could not be opened, you must have missed them.

Open the Untold Legends Book (assuming you have already completed the level) turn around and go back along the corridor to the larger area with four columns in the room, look to either side, yes left or right, and there are two locked gates.
