I mentioned this in the other worldspace thread, but if custom textures show up with Oscape I'm guessing one simple way is to copy all the normal landscape textures in as custom ones then only use those in your landscape, maybe with a prefix before the name so you know only to use those textures within your mod. I'm pretty sure I'll start using custom textures for quite a few things regardless. Just trying to find some tutorials on how to go about it.

I also got half-decent results using CK for meshes, Oscape for normals, and TES4qLOD for distant textures, but TES4qLOD's way of making them is a bit rudimentary so there's a bunch of artifacts. Possibly those with photoshop could perform a batch conversion to blur the generated .bmp images and convert them to .dds using nconvert since pixellation seems to be the main issue.

EDIT - after playing about a bit in the editor it seems pretty simple to add custom landscape textures, although I'm going to try a couple of experiments with duplicating existing textues and landscape references too. I suspect you'll have to duplicate both the texture file reference and the landscape texture reference since they're both internal to the .esm, then link the copied texture reference to the copied texture file - a bit of a laborious task but I see no reason why that couldn't work.
