LOL. All the civil war losers packed into one romm

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 7:56 am

After kicking Alfric's [censored] (minus any dragon shouts from him in his defense I might add...pretty lame) I ventured upstairs and found all the supporting Jarls and stewards/wizards packed into a single room in the upstairs of the "Palace of Kings". They all had disparaging remarks to make to me for choosing the imperial side so I shouted at them and a fight ensued. I kicked [censored] but they were still essential so they wound up running me out of there to the point of reloading.

I wonder if the same is true if you take the other side of the civil war?

Topic should read ROOM but editor won't let me change it......................

I love the way that one of them still offers me a quest! I think it's part of the thane questline for that Jarl, so the game doesn't know he's not Jarl any more. The rest just get a load of lines [censored]ing about their new position - even the kids!

I was wondering why I had so many quest markers in Solitude. Turned out I had four or five bounties I needed to collect from the deposed ex-Jarls.

I suppose if you start the quest when they are still Jarl you will need to collect from the original Jarl?

They were all still sitting at the dining table in front of the throne for me. Ulfric's corpse was still there untouched after several days of ingame time had passed. Threw his body on the dining table and many lols were had.

Those quests should either have failed or allowed you to collect from the new Jarl. I find it too silly for words to attempt to collect bounties from the old Jarls after they've been deposed (and cut off from their source of income).

Thats the saving grace for having to unseat Balgruuf. His monster kids no longer infest Dragonsreach.

Bethesda really has to learn how to take essential tags off.

I'd figure they would have picked up that detail From Fallout: New Vegas. I swear they snubbed that game too much.

Actually, his kids are still there but they now live in the dungeon XD. I find that to be much better than having them leave or being forced to listen to their snobby complaining whenever I go near them. One more reason why I love Stormcloaks.

Actually they are still there, in the basemant of Dragonsreach. And they still make snide remarks like "Great, another lackey here to lick my father's boots." and "Where can I find a good sweetroll in this skeever hole of a city."

I had trouble completing Mephala's quest which I started right after conquering Whiterun for the Stormcloaks. I could talk with the children, but you have to speak with the Jarl first and he had previously told me he needed a few hours to collect his things before departing Dragonsreach.

I think there would have been a way to move it forward if I had known the ex-Jarl had relocated to Solitude, but I ended up reloading my save just prior to conquering Whiterun.

Even a toggle in the menu would be ideal. I wish I could make the choice to kill the questgiver like in the good old days.

we all wish for the good old days. I personally wish for the polished and fixed New Vegas days, but Bethesda must be too butt-hurt after that.

Which is more immersion breaking? Having a message pop up telling you that this person was essential for a rather important quest, or having Immortal NPCs?

Message, lol.
That is, if your enemy is an Aedric or Daedric prince... if not... well... take a guess.
BTW: Essentially NPC's get hit with a hammer on their head, then they act like they've taken an arrow to the knee. :P
BTW: Essentially Essential NPC's are [CENSORED] and completely Unessential to a good game... infact I'd go as far as to say not having them is near-essential.
BTW: I have yet to hear beths excuse for not letting us kill people and just giving us a Morrowind style message instead...

Haha yeah, I remember the first time where I found the war losers after beating their Imperial asses. They were all screaming at me and I felt like a real [censored] once again :P

nononono. This is NOT about taking Guesses. The invincible NPC serves no purpose if they cannot die. They are not people if they cannot die. They are nicely painted shells that tell me to go somewhere.

sure don't serve the purpose of making me buy the damn game AGAIN...lordy...

and if you do even make the mod, you best make it good. add something more to it. make specifically sure to show that you have failed quests by killing someone. Something that happened in...guess what? Fallout: New Vegas.

Some quests cannot be completed without them. Namely Balgruuf the Greater and his problem kid.

dont get me wrong i am ALL for the essentials being toggled off or hell just be damn i shouldnt have killed that person yet later on in the game finding out i cant do a certain soemthing BUT BUT if we all remember the whole forums from Oblivion there were quite a few quest givers that were not essential and they were part of guild quests and etc and u couldnt finish the guild quest because thye had died earlier in the game, the amount of complaints and [censored]ing is why i think u cant throw a rock anywhere in skyrim without hitting at least 2 or 3 essentials.
