You keep thinking that.
Or perhaps you would be interested in learning about a Microsoft business strategy, titled "Embrace, Extend, Extinguish".
Entering into the game market with the XBox360 was "Embrace".
Buying exclusives, even if timed exclusives, is "Extend". This is where they're at now. It may take a long while to reach the Extinguish endgame, considering that Nintendo has its own niche (albiet a VERY large niche) that is largely resilient to their extending, and the PC market is at more free-roaming than they gave it credit for, as evidenced by the general rejection of GFWL. Sony's Playstation series is the most vulnerable.
I'm beginning to wonder about the details of the release agreements for the DLC. Did Microsoft foist a "We get timed exclusives for the 'Box or you don't release your DLC on Live" clause on them? It sounds like a... (hmmm... what's a censor-friendly word?) ...phallic thing that Microsoft would do.
