Looking for an artist who can draw sprites

I'm looking for an artist who can draw basic sprites and environments. It's for my latest game dev project, I started the game about a week ago and I got most of the coding done but I seriously need some graphics so I can continue.

Here's a short description of the game: (Imagine a mix of Lost Vikings, Splinter Cell, Thief and Trine.)
It's a tactical action / adventure game similar to The Lost Vikings. You control 3 members of an elite SWAT team. Like in the Lost Vikings they all have different abilities, one is a thief and can scale walls and disable security cameras and stuff, one is a tank and can break down doors and stuff like that, and one is a fighter that can use guns and set explosives. The missions are inspired by Splinter Cell. A nice mix of data gathering, infiltration, assassination/raids and even stealing. Most of the game takes place at night so there are a lot of dark scenes.

I want the graphics to be similar to http://goo.gl/EBiWD, a game that's currently in development by Tom Francis (A writer for PC Gamer UK). But maybe with a hint of cell shading. (more visible edges)

So... anyone interested in helping out? Even if you can just contribute one sprite it would still help a lot and get your name on the credit list :P

oh and it's a non-commercial game so no one gets paid, sorry ^_^

That's a pretty interesting concept, and TLV was a very good game. Good luck man, unfortunately I have no skills to help.

Thanks :P

somewhere between realistic and cartoony sprites. Right now I need environments like sidewalks, light posts, foliage like trees and stuff. Buildings and furniture; Office buildings, something that looks like a military base. Furniture like desks, chairs, office chairs, computers, tables. Also some random stuff like security cameras, alarm lights (red, flashing, hang in the ceiling), maybe a vault door.

outdoor stuff needs to be dark since most missions take place during the night. Indoor sprites need dark and light versions because you'll be able to turn lights on and off.

Well, to be quite frank, I don't exactly have the perspective to make environmental objects and stuff (and to be even more frank, I'm not the best of graphic artists on Earth :P ). What I would recommend is messaging a few people on dA. Just click on the "non-isometric" filter (or "isometric" if that's what you want) and message a bunch of people who's work you like best. If you would like me to do this task of informing people of your idea for you, I am more than willing to. :)

You need to give a bit more information. Do you want character models? What size? How many dimensions does the game use? Is the game side scrolling or top down?

if you want some quick stuff, I could make some sketches, err, probably get them scanned in this week, and mail 'em to you. Simple pen work, but you'll have a stop-gap for the moment.

you'd have to scale them then as you see fit.

The character sprites have to be 64 pixels high (max). Buildings and other objects should be proportional to the character sizes.

Oh 2D sprites! I haven't made any of those in years.

I love Lost Vikings, I still have my SNES hooked up so that I can play it. That said I love your idea. I'd like to help in any little way I can. What size sprites and tiles are you using? How many frames are you wanting for animation? Do you have any concept art for what you want? From what you describe I'm imagining character models similar to those in Metal Slug. Also what software are you using to put this all together? That might help clear up some of the technical questions.

I'm currently using GameMaker 8.1 but I might end up creating my own engine for this project. Even though Gamemaker is surprisingly advanced compared to the crap games most people create with it, it doesn't have any shading options. <_<

I have no idea about the framerate yet, but if I get some basic sprites I can edit them on my own to match the framerate. I can draw myself... I just can't create sprites :P I do mostly design-related drawings and architecture.
