Looking For A Bicycle

Post » Wed Nov 30, 2011 8:36 pm

Does anyone here know anything about bikes?

I'm looking to purchase a new one, as the one I have as about 15+ years old, doesn't switch gears easily (or often), and has one pedal. I rode that just a bit ago for 3.5 miles with a friend of mine, and it barely got the job done.

I have never been into cycling until now (it was a BLAST, aside from the crappy bike), and I know nothing about the different brands or types of bikes, so I'm hoping one of you can recommend me something.

Thanks Tons,
TJ

I assume a road bike and not a mountain bike? I have http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/mountain/sport/4_series/4300_disc/# for mountain biking but I still do some urban and street rides with it through paved park streets and I love it. These are actual real deal bikes though not something you get from walmart that falls apart. This is http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/

Need a little more info into what you're looking at price wise and performance wise.

I always rode Diamond Backs then switched to GT before they were bought by Pacific Cycle. I still own the last GT I bought, an 2000/1 GT iDrive 4.0 paid $1200 for it back in the day. It needs work cause I don't ride anymore. Wish I could afford to fix it, it was the only thing I did to keep in shape.

Diamond Back has quite a few entry level bikes, definitely check them out.
