Been using my G-15 for years...Rocks..

The LCD is the Key...in -game i can see so much it is not funny..
GPU use
GPU Mem
GPU Fan speed
CPU use
CPU Fan Speed
Case Fan # 1 ,2, 3 Including there respective temps.
FPS

I could add...CPU core speed Ram stuff, but not necessary,..lol very durable, the actual letters for each keys light up . OFF/ bright/ brighter.

Has macro keys...
Also can control media..MP3's View song title...list goes on but you get the Point . I would buy this again and again. or their newer version. Trust in Logitech.

A mechanical keyboard is clearly defined as a keyboard using mechanical switches. Please don't confuse people by redefining commonly used terms. For instance, the Corsair K90 is a hybrid mechanical keyboard as it has a few keys using rubber dome (specifically all the keys at the very top and Macro keys), while all the others are mechanical. Still I'd like to get this keyboard for myself.

Thanks! Seriously. That is the info I was pressing for. I was wondering, but didn't know. Passive Agressivness at its finest. ;)

I was wondering about that. I still have some old IBM (pre PS/2?? connectors) in storage somewhere. I have always preferred the responsivness of the mechanical keyboards. I'm interested in what the OP decides on and hopefully post impressions.

@The Nanny: If you have the option, I recommend you go to your local retailers that have display keyboards and get a feel for them. When I first started shopping for a modern keyboard many years ago, I hated the soft/quiet key nonmechanical boards and feel. What helped me decide on the G15 a couple years ago was reviews, being able to feel one at the store/Best Buy and the display panel. I'm also a fan of Logitech products.

Ahh... I miss the clickity click of my old IBM keyboards... and trying not to loose the springs when I did a thourough cleaning.

I love my steelseries 6Gv2, hoping they will make a backlit version someday. I had a razer BW Ultimate, but sold it on ebay- couldn't stand the tactile blues.

Currently using a http://cyborggaming.com/prod/v5keyboard.htm. Works good.

I have the same one, using it for 3 years now..I got the TAB key starting to stick from Skyrim now doubt...but it served it purpose..other keyboards (more expensive ones) lasted much less time, either the keys got ruined or it just felt very uncomfortable. This is my 2nd Saitek keyboard..probably the 3rd one will be similar or same.

If you want a backlit full-sized mechanical and you have bank, check out the Deck Legend:

http://www.deckkeyboards.com/

Cherry MX Black or Red (Linear) or Brown (Tactile) would be a good switch type to choose for gaming.

The Mionix Zibal 60 is another good (and pricey) choice:

This is what Santa brought me for Christmas:

Haven't read any of the replies.
This is the one I have and recommend it. This one newegg has in stock has red keys, the one I use has blue back lit keys.

If you want one with a lcd screen your best bet is to go with the logitech keyboard noted in the first reply.

Oh, just to note, if you do want to try Mechanical Keyboards, overclock.net has one of the most informative guides I've found (although it doesn't have the very very latest keyboards listed): http://www.overclock.net/t/491752/mechanical-keyboard-guide. For instance it explains in both technical and layman's terms the different mechanical switches involved.

I'm sorry but I literally use the cheapest possible bargain basemant crap keyboards I can possibly find and a small LED directional lamp I spliced to a USB plug for power and duct tape it on the desk pointing down onto the keys.

The reason being is every expensive keyboard I've bought I destroyed it with liquids , gamerage , whatever you can think of. So now I have an arsenal backup of cheap keyboards still sitting in their boxes waiting for the current one to succumb to my abuse. And my experience is you can throw all your money away on a product made of plastic and pit it against your continually regenerateing finger skin and the skin will win every time as evidenced by my stack of retired good keyboards with buttons worn down in corners where you can look into them. And oh yeah , cheap keyboards usually have a really decent tactile feel to them anyway and usually are mechanical without touting it as some huge reason for a lump of plastic to cost close to or over $100.00.
