Looking For Some Help

I've been playing around in my little study room with some Polystyrene foam and some Elmer's glue. Haven't found anything special happening and decided to use up the rest of some super glue for some study. Interesting thing I found was when I added some gel'd super glue to the foam it started to dissolve it. I found this unusual and yet not out of the ordinary because i've heard acetone can be used to dissolve foam for model builders (mentioned in a Mythbuster's show I watched). However the weirdest part came when I added some Elmer's to this sort of "Gluey" mixture that had formed.

The liquid immediately formed into a solid mass setting up into some weird super dry substance. Thanks to the company that makes Elmer's glue I learned it's Polyvinyl Acetate mixed with Polyvinyl Alcohol *unsure of the ratios* and I can only assume some chemical reaction occurred that caused the dissolved foam to set back up.

Anyways are there any chemists in the house that can give me an idea of what exactly happened between the Foam, Super Glue (Cyanoacrylate), and the Elmer's Glue? (May have made a difference but I used the Clear glue instead of the cloudy white standard version)
