Skyrim just can feel so tedious at times because you never really feel like you get anything done. It is just too big and the factions don't really do a good job of making you feel like you made an impact anywhere so that feeling of progress diminishes very quickly.

Have you tried RP a certain type of character? It can be fun!

Try a different playstyle or roleplay them?

Have you been playing non-stop and are feeling burned out? Breaks from the game could help.

Yes, start a new character. This time put some restrictions on how you play (All melee, no magic; Go Imperial asap and do not help the Nords at all; Go Stormcloak, do not help the Imperials at all; All magic, no melee; et al) and stick to it. These restrictions will force you to think differently and make you take a road less traveled. Hopefully this way you will run into things you haven't seen before.

While you wait for the CK and or DLC let me give you a tip.

There are places in skyrim you havent been to yet, no don't say yes because you -REALLY- haven't been to them yet

dungeon diving naked?

killing enmies with only lightning/fire?

daggers only?

summons only?

you know tbh I like it when you can do these things when you AREN'T bored of the game, but to use them to breath life into it? eehh.

I say give it a break, don't force it.

My only advice (what I do when I get bored or finish a game) is leave the game and either play another game for a while or just do something completely different for a month or longer. I never go back to the same role playing game until 3 months later if I get bored or finish it (truth). Then it will feel fresh again.

Some people don't want to Dungeon dive naked, or only use Daggers. or only Summon, to some that sounds more boring.. :o

But not bored of Skyrim anyway here so meh.

Start a new character will help but also try to do stuff in the game that you did not do or miss out on.
The game is way to big to do everything with just one character.

I'm currently playing Skyward Sword while I wait for the CK and some much needed immersion mods.

I've got The Witcher lined up for afterwards as well.

Take a break from the game, all games will become stale at some point no matter how great they are. If you're on PC then mods will solve this problem once the CK is released. Although it could be quite some time before we get some proper decent game changing mods.

Yea, I`ve been considering putting Skyrim on hold for at least 3 months waiting for the better Mods that will fix my pet hates. In fact, haven`t even played Skyrim for about two weeks even though I still come here.

For starters. maybe this PC>PS3>XBOX360.
Get a PC and mod it to death, like a new game and usually a pretty game changing mod comes round once a week.
Even the visual mods can be that stunning you will want to start over again too see the whole game in it's new glory.

Skyrim just doesnt have the replayability of previous games due to its shallowness.
Sure, you can take a different side in the civil war, but the quests and dialogue are copy/pasted and the same.
There isnt much you can do with the world, you cant become hated by one faction because you joined another, there is no fame or infamy, no NPC disposition no spellmaking to toy around with.
You cant decide to reshape the world as you would like it, leaving only stormcloaks, Imperials or whatever, because there are too many NPC's essential for no reason.
There really isnt much new lore, about 80 or 90% of all books are from previous games and the writing in the new games has suffered hard. Where before we got gems such as http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Bone, now we get meh-ness such as http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Guide_to_Better_Thieving, which does little more than explain game mechanics. (A noted exception is http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Songs_of_the_Return, which is amazing.)

The long and short of it is that once you have seen the sights and played the quests once, the game gets stale.
This is because most everything that gave it depth and replayability has been gutted.
Its sad, but Skyrim is a very beautiful game with content that is nice to play exactly once. After that, youve been there, done that.

Hehe. I dunno why some people get so precious about their console\Pcs.

I might just do that, though I would try really hard to keep it balanced and mention the many good points that the game does have.
It just dissapoints in some other aspects.

There are good points about Skyrim but it is mostly aesthetic, but I would like to hear your thoughts on combat, depth of story/dialogue and its impact on gameplay, loot, level scaling, variety of enemies and atmosphere & immersion.

I personally cannot get into it, I don't know why. It feels very shallow and boring. I loved both FO3 and FNV, DAO, ME1 & ME2 and Witcher 2 recently but I keep restarting characters trying to find excitement and so I never complete more than half the map and havent completed the main quest nor half the guild ones.

I like to try new things and see how far I can push the game. I'm about to try The Worlds Worst Thief and purposely botch up every mission they give me. If I still become Guild Master then something has gone horribly wrong (and please don't tell me if I cant as I would like to find out for myself, tyvm. :))
