Lost in Black Reach

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 7:53 am

I have been lost in Black Reach for days now. The only exit I see is behind a gate that I can't get through. I can't find my way around. I've looked it up a million times, and I still can't figure it out. Modes anyone have any ideas?
I'm starting to feel claustrophobic lol.

I also posted a question about a smoke glitch on my character, but didn't really get any solutions... Smoke is shooting out from my right and left side and there's weird ember like things coming from my feet. It's not an armor issue or any type of active effect.

There are 'many' exits from Blackreach, go open a few gates.

Just turn on the quest arrow and follow if you are working through the MQ. ;)

I think there are about four exits to the surface, they look like giant towers to the roof with the gate grills which you can open with a lever. Each contains an elevator which takes you to the surface.

Some of the gates open by pressing a button. Look for one on that face thing.

How can you be lost for days? Have you looked around the place?

Those exits with the gates blocking the way have a wierd Dwemer statue head thing infront, ontop of the head statue is a button~

One of the gates opened with a key if I remember right. You get it in the field lab in the middle of Black Reach on the guys dead body. I haven't played in like a week though, so I may be mistaken, but I am pretty sure you get a key on his body, then when you leave the lab, the gate is directly to your right.

Heh, someone gets lost around the same time I actually sent one of my characters down there on a type of 'expedition'. Exploring it properly, which I never really did.

There are at least thirty eight plants spread throughout Blackreach, and the floating mushrooms sound similiar to the Nirnroots. If you are going to use Alchemy the reward is worth the effort of finding thirty of them though.

There's also a ton of good items that can be collected and sold in that place. I went in twice to fill up on stuff and ran back and stored it at my house. I got bored with the collecting and left, so I haven't even explored the whole place yet, but got enough items and ingredients to sell of like 4000 gold worth of crap. It was great. If I didn't have to go to a dinner with the in-laws tonight, i would definately be headed back to Black Reach.

It's an odd place, with lots of wierd noises and strange things happening. If you ever make it out alive head straight back to Blackreach, you'll feel much safer there.

I love Jeremy Soule but the music in Blackreach drives me bananas when I'm trying to find nirnroots. If you think you hear one but can't find it, wait a moment and see if it's just that part of the music that sounds exactly like a nirnroot.

Infront of said gates in an earlyer post, there is a satuet of a head with a little blue button on the top that lowers the gate to an elevator that takes you back up to the surface.

Blackreach is awesome and terrible. I remember the first time going through I couldn't wait to get the hell out of there. I found every single exit except the one I actually needed. And there's so many different types of enemies in the place: giants, wispmothers, Falmer, chaurus, bandits/religious followers, spiders, etc.

I did't know you could mine soul gems though. I'll have to go back and check that out.

So you get a compass, a map, a clairvoyant spell and a big flashing arrow and you still get lost? Sigh, I guess the next TES game will have to feature the Dwemer equivalent of a GPS navigation system. :(

LOL.......You found a way in. You can't remember what door you came in through? Once you're in there is like 5 other ways out.
