Lost in Dead Money

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 11:03 pm

Started playing Dead Money last night. Dropped God off at the switches to find him some snacks, but after wandering I am totally lost after splattering the second snack beyond retrieval.

1. Isn't there any fast travel in this DCL?
2. If necessary, can I spawn a replacement snack if I have the patience to find my way back.

3. What methods have you found to endure this game? I was ready to quit after hearing God make the exact same complaint for the 400th time.
4. Is there a good map that exists on the net for this Sierra Madre complex?

No there isn't any fast travel

You can if your on a PC just use the console to spawn it, but that's cheating....that's bad mojo.

the methods that ive found is -look everywhere- and always travel alone because the companions always get in the way unless they have a gun, i didnt use God/Dog at all sense he is a melee combatant with my gunner character (gonna start over soon with a melee sense fist never run out of ammo), also move slowly keep your eyes & ears open you have no idea how many times ive died do those damn speakers.

The map for the Sierra Madra is good i enjoyed it in till i had to go to the bell tower and do back down died 10 times trying, some places are a pain in the ass.

I will try to find a second snack and make my way back to God tonight. Hopefully once dropped off I won't have to listen to God/Dog ever again.

Besides that incessant whining, the game is packed with so much tedious searching that I can't wait to get back to the Mojave. You must have a lot of game dedication to have played this side adventure more than once. Hope those upcoming add-ons are able to make more workable maps to help us find where we need to be.

On the plus side, this was the most stable Fallout ever. A good slogan would be, "Tedium and Stability for a Brighter Tomorrow".

I respectfully disagree with your comments on the map. #1 Fast travel should be gone all together. Why have a giant open world game and fast travel??? Are u scrared u might run into some nasty creatures or something. Now in a situation where I may get lost i try to leave bread crumbs (mines) at points that have many intersections so i dont get too lost. Always put yourself in the game. u would not just run around that place without leaving a trail. u could die because of not knowing where u r.

Found a way out of the dilemma of having disintegrated God/Dog's second snack with the automatic rifle: I just went back to the first designated ghost snack and resurrected it, and then killed it with the knife spear.

Took Dean to his destination with a minimum of frustration. I am hoping Christine gives me the silent treatment like Boone!
