ED-E lost fix?

Post » Tue Mar 29, 2011 10:49 pm

After triggering the gas explosion in vault 22 ED-E was no where to be found and I only found out this is why I lost him after had saved and now I can't get Rex or Arcane Gannon to follow me. Does anyone know of a way to get him back or at least a way to remove him as companion. If not do you think the problem may be pached?

I assume you're on a console, because for PC lost companions issue has recently been patched - we now have map markers for companions and unless we have told them to wait they will rejoin us when using fast travel. So expect that function in your next patch if you don't have it already.

Mind you, pre-patch I had the exact same thing with ED-E disappearing at that same point in the game, so it is a bug. I reloaded from a save before the explosion, took him to another level of the vault, and told him to wait there, he was still there when I got back.

What you could try is using the elevator in Vault 22 as that often spawns active companions right next to you.

It's always best to post these kind of questions in the Software/Hardware forum for the platform you play on.

If it's PC there are some console commands you can use. If you play on a console, you will have to reload a save from before the explosion. ED-E is prone to disappear like this. He also clips through objects and the ground.

When ED-E dies, he explodes into tiny hard to identify pieces. He could have been killed by that explosion you're talking about and you wouldn't have noticed.

And for some reason, some of the times he dies you don't lose the perk.

Even if he is set to essential? Because he was in my game.
