Lost forever ?

Post » Tue Feb 15, 2011 7:05 pm

I know that there are already multiple topics outlining this issue however none of them give clear answers as to how I am supposed to resolve this problem.

ED-E is lost. He went unconsiuos some where throughout the game (1-2 weeks ago real time)

I have tried the elevator at vault 22 glitch, it does not work.
ED-E is not at Primm
I have searched the entire map looking for the ED-E companion icon and cannot find it.
I know I still have ED-E as I have the enhanced sensors perk.
I have tried waiting for a character reset message (2 weeks in game waiting) and still nothing.

Can anyone please help as this is seriously pissing me off. I want to get into the Remnants bunker but I need ED-E phrase.

And please, only post if you know the answer, theres no need to turn this thread into one of those 'this has happened to me to' threads.

Thanks to anyone in advance who can help me with this issue.

Not an option. I have made my way through the game using only 2 saves which I alternate and update. If I wanted ED-E back at this point only restarting the game will do. Plus I didnt pay £40 for the game to have to revert to previous saves to fix the game because the developers haven't heard of beta-testers. As much as I love FNV the shear amount of bugs/glitches in this game is a joke. If any other manufacturer released a game with as many glitches as FNV there would be up-roar about it.

No offense, but you have to be kidding that your only used 2 saves. You get 100 slots! Sorry but sounds like you played yourself. Maybe try saving in a new slot persistently and you won't have such a lame issue.

I know you get 100 slots, it doesnt mean you have to use them. What is the point in using anymore slots than needed. I use 2 because thats all I need. Such a lame issue ? You have got to be kidding me right ? I mean seriously, you are putting my missing ED-E situation down to the fact that I only used 2 save slots. Tell me your joking because if you are not you have proven yourself to be just as useful as t1ts on a nun in helping me resolve this situation. None of what you have just said is helpful, so I thank you for your contribution of sweet fu(k all to this topic.

Only 2 save files??? To be honest, you've done this to yourself. Anyone with an ounce of experience playing RPG's, would know better than to use only 2 save files...

I'm not trying to rub salt in the wounds, but its a age old lesson when it comes to RPG's and that lesson is to save early, save often, and maintain numerous save files.

Best of luck in getting ED-E back, but you're not likely to find an answer you want to hear.

Ok, first of all please do not tell folks they are "useless" because it's flaming and not allowed here and will result in warnings. Consider this fair warning.

Next, what you are describing can happen in any game with a bit of AI. Folks having schedules, players telling a companion to stay put then forgetting where they are, leaving them in some dangerous place and them getting shot. And yes, sometimes the games glitch or sometimes it's a programing issue. But that is why in the FAQ's that exist on these forums and members here encourage folks to save often and save saves. When your save slots are full you can start all over. You can clear some slots to save some more times and you can put some saves on a memory card should you need to.

So the fact is that when a game glitches or you just screw something up, you need frequent saves to go back to. And sometimes saves corrupt which would also make you need to save often.

Anyway, folks are trying to help you and if you want the thread to stay open, don't call folks names or treat them as if they are not trying to help because they are.
