I lost all my saves when I changed language! Will they return if I swap back? Scared as hell atm because I finally after 350 hours of skyrim managed to create the "perfect" character.

First time I have heard of this but I don't see how changing it back can hurt. Also, have you checked your saved games folder to see if there are any backups?

Hmm the save games are all there it would seem, but they cannot be loaded.

Try reinstalling Skyrim. Delete the Steam/steamapps/common/Skyrim directory (suggest you back it up first), then let steam reinstall it. This will not affect your saved games, they are saved elsewhere - in your user profile directory. You may have to try to play the game - using the steam interface not SKSE; or try 'verify cache', to get Steam to notice it is gone.
