Lost the urge to play Fallout! : Fallout: New Vegas

I was happilly wandering down the road to Boulder City :whistling:

But then, I stopped wanting to play :cryvaultboy:

I haven't been able to pick up the game for a week! Any ideas on how to get the urge back?

P.S.- Im on xbox

Take a break. Seriously... When I play games I sometimes lose the urge to play so I just do something else for a while. The urge comes back though. Some games I put down for years, only to come back with the same fervor for them when I first played them.

I have been playing DungeonKeeper2 and Ground Control [1] lately... I've not played FO:NV for two weeks (except to quickly check something, or grab a screenshot).

I've been having the urge recently to play Deus Ex: GOTY Edition for some reason. I haven't touched Fallout: New Vegas in weeks either.

Try doing something radically different than what you may have planned . . . for instance, when you arrive at Boulder City, arrive with Guns blazing! Kill everyone you see - NCR and Khans alike. Then see where that impulsive move takes your storyline . . .

Don't just do the main quest right away. There are so many to do and many unmarked ones as well. Do some grave robbing (in game). Collect NCR dog tags without upsetting NCR and Legion Ears without upsetting the Legion.

When I got this game a week after it released it didn't leave my system for at least two weeks and I played it every day. I lost the will to play it or any video game for a few days but then I popped right back into it because I missed the Gobi lol. Give it time - you'll be back.

Iv actually debated playing though, and making a story based on his/her travels. Everything I do, from talking to people to slaughtering people, will be written down from a narrative point of view, and given some "pazaz" to make it a little more interesting.

Put down the game, and go play something else for about a year. Then, come back and acquire all of the DLC and patches. Worked for me with FO3.

Don't sweat it. It's normal. I am playing some Half Life 2 Epsode 2 right now, then probably some more Stalker, my favorite, then I'll get back to FNV. I'll finish it, I'm close, then fire up a different character and do it different.

Having a variety of games to play is my solution.

I have to second both suggestions for Deus-ex and Dungeon Keeper (Though I would definitely go with the original rather than the sequel)

But yes, go play/do something else for a bit. When you do come back to New Vegas it'll be like a breath of fresh air.

This is how I'm slowly working my way through Bionic Commando. It's brain deadingly frustrating and extended breaks are the only way to keep from smashing the monitor in anger.

Simply put, if you don't want to play, don't. Find something else to do. You'll play again when you want to.

That game was horrible compared to the first..

I very well may. I have it on Steam which begs the question: Why have I not purchased the PC version of Fallout: New Vegas?

Also, I really hope the upcoming Deus Ex title is more like the first and not a rehash of the second. The second basically became a customizable shooter and I liked the original's RPG-ness.
