FFS!
(sorry, OP, this is not aimed at you)
It really upsets me that Bethseda are blamed for every fault; even when they fix things, people will complain that a) it should have been fixed at release, or

the fix has broken a mod.
I know that no-one reads the EULA but it always states that you buy the rights to use software "as is"; the developers are under no legal obligation to fix, patch or improve anything. And yet, patch 1.4 for Skyrim totally fixed the game for me and many other people.
"It shouldn't have needed fixing!", I hear people shout. Ideally, yes, but the 11/11/11 release date couldn't really be deferred, given how ingrained it was in all of the advertising campaign. Which I suppose led to the short-term testing that failed to reveal the "save file bloat" issue. A fatal flaw, to be sure. Totally broke my game. But 1.4 totally fixed it!
As for the recently released high-res texture pack, if anyone prefers other 3rd party texture mods - or if it simply causes problems - it can be disabled. Easily. I would say that an option to ubinstall it would be nice, if only to free up 3 GB of HD space, but the overwhelming indication so far - concerning the texture pack causing performance issues - is that a higher-specification PC is required to run the game with it. Go figure.
Finally, for all those with the "Mods are Gods; Devs are Devils" attitude, I hope that people will consider that, without the devs, there wouldn't be a Skyrim to mod!
It's a great game! I hope that the devs AND the community make it even greater.
