Don't want to bash on Fallout 3 but I didn't really like that game. While it was an enjoyable experience there were too many things that I didn't like about it. The main plot was pretentious, lots of stuff was annoying etc etc.

But I LOVE Fallout New Vegas. It took my 38 hours to complete and I didn't try to do it slow. I just took things as they came. In the beginning everything blended in nicely, I didn't really know what was the main quest and what was just side stuff.

The dialogue is GREAT, the quests are great, the main quest is great, the re-use of original Fallout music was great, the different factions are great, the moral dilemmas (there's no clear good or bad factions). The humor was great too, a lot of the NPCs were great. I just love this game! Also, it seemed like SPECIAL and skills mattered a lot in this game, which I like.

There are a few bugs that were annoying but they didn't ruin the overall experience.

Also, I chose the "Wild Wasteland" perk in the beginning of the game but I don't know exactly what it did. I didn't notice anything that felt silly or out of place. Just the good old dark Fallout humor that I love! Everything fitted great.

Also, I decided to go with Mr House. Seemed to be the only reasonable thing to do.

Only thing I can really complain about at this point is that hardcoe mode only awarded me a crappy achievement. I would have wanted some in game easter egg.

the wild wastland perk will give you easter eggs on monty pyton, aliens, indiana jones, starwars and some other strange random events(but you will need to search for them)

and i really enjoyed the game, its felt more complete than fallout 3 because the factions, more interesting companions etc

Found the aliens and got the alien blaster, if thats what you meant. Gotta look for the other stuff tho.

I love it too, all I miss is the fights that broke out in F3, yet to see any fights that don't involve me.
I wish they would not hide quests under the misc/notes section aswell.

Asides from a game ending bug, I have enjoyed every minute.

Good to see threads like this in a forum over-run by FO3 fans complaining that this game isn't the same (which is true, except that this is a good thing, not a bad thing). When I first came here I was wondering if I was the only person outside of the old fan-sites who loved the game. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I waited 12 years for a Fallout game like this. Tactics was ok, but it wasn't an RPG. FO3? Well, that's a whole other can o' beans. So yes, I love FO:NV too.

I had been playing Fallout 3 for the first time all the way thru right before Vegas came out, because originally when I played it on the PC it was crashing on me constantly for some reason but I played it on the 360 and loved it.. I think it is one of my top 10 games of all time... I waited awhile to get New Vegas because I heard how buggy it was and was playing through the dlc for fallout 3.. But I actually think New Vegas is better than Fallout 3, its way more involved with the quests and the factions and is more complex then Fallout 3 is.. I dont think its like a giant DLC or anything either.. It has a much different feel to the entire game.. :fallout:
