Wait until you get an arrow into your tail. It will kill you, too.

Damage from an arrow is the same no matter where you hit.
An arrow that hits a tail does just as much damage as if you hit the head.

Hitting someone/something does the same damage. If you hit him in the hooves it would have done the same thing.

Cast fury on them and then at least their funny to fight/shoot.

How would you feel about some if not all the Animals in Skyrim getting doubled in size? excluding bunnehs and foxes of course..I don't know where, but I do know I heard/read a statement going along the lines of

In Skyrim, everything is bigger.

Deer make up for their lack of health with their elusiveness. Sometimes they're hard to chase down, if you miss the first shot.

On a sidenote, a hunting mini-game would've been cool in Skyrim. Maybe even something that utilized anatomy based targetting, like FO's VATS. This way, an "arrow to the tail" wouldn't cut it.

Even in RL, "thay" are weak prey animals. No surprise here, it's actually quite realistic.

I often find random mages chasing after deer, a lot of enemy NPCs you find the wilderness seem to be that aggressive actually. Poor passive animals.

But yeah, deers are pretty weak, but it does feel a bit of satisfaction n when you get that one shot sneak kill when you are a low level.

Yeah, but real life hunting requires a bit more stalking and patience. Not to mention, hitting them wrongly never kills them. Just cruelly makes them get away and suffer in solitude. Maybe you'll stumble across the corpse later.

I once saw two necromancers chasing an bunny, after they killed it they attacked me, they started by raising the bunny again :o)

Almost make me want to learn necromancy, had been so cool having an undead bunny following me.

LMAO! OMG that reminds me of the time I was heading to Kolskegger mIne. I already had my bow ready, but the three Forsworns outside the mine where totally focused on some enemy on the bridge. They were yelling stuff like "you won't get away" and shooting arrows at someone. I was like who the heck is here besides me? And then I saw the vicious thing they were after... a little bunny zig zagging past the Forsworns LOL

I left them to it and just entered the mine.

This.

lol It's not like they're predatory animals. They eat grasses and leaves. By the Gods... if they gave the Deer talons and fangs to go with those horns, then people would be complaining about having a Deer run them down and one-shotting them...

They're weak because they are prey animals. They're around as food for Wolves and Bears (and target practice for intrepid Archers and Destruction Mages too... ;)), nothing more.

I suppose the main reason is because there are no hit-markers in Skyrim as far as I know, which kinda svcks.

I agree, yet did they evolve and survive to live next to us. Speaking of the bunnies. Rabbits are feared for their reproduction!

I hunt deer with a bow in real life, and I don't recall ever using more than one arrow to kill a deer.
